Good solid camera

Very good camera. I would give it a 5 star rating except for layout for top controls. I'm rough on cameras and pull out the camera to shoot quick pics of a view or a breadcumb path trace. So the settings knob gets bumped a lot and I find that I'm often shooting off an odd setting.

Sony RX100 review

The Sony RX100 is a superb camera buff's camera that's not too proud to go idiot-proof

Almost DSLR photos in a pocket size

I was suspicious that I wouldn't like the quality of the photos on a camera small enough to fit in your pocket, but I bought it on a try-out basis and thought if I wasn't impressed with the photos I could always return it in 15 days. I have not returned the camera. It is fantastic.

Amazing Camera!

"Truly a great camera. It's like having a dslr in your pocket! The low light performance is excellent and focus is fast and accurate, video is very good and overall is a great well rounded camera. Highly recommended."

This camera is perfect for carrying it with you wherever you go. It's more compact than my digital SLR but with many comparable features. There is even a feature where when taking a picture, it determines people in the shot and generates a second picture with closer up shots.

Sony RX100 review

Camera design is all about compromise. Great pictures ideally need large sensors and fast lenses, but this usually means a heavier burden on your camera bag or wallet. Mirrorless cameras try to...

Astonishing image quality for the size; Solid; pocketable design; Excellent interface

Unimpressive video performance and usability; Expensive

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100

Ever wondered why image quality in point-and-shoot cameras has not improved considerably over the last couple of years? Especially in low-light / high-ISO shooting? That's because manufacturers have been simply cramming more and more pixels onto a tiny image sensor (barring a few exceptions, like...

Compact and lightweight; Excellent image quality; Fast; RAW image format; Good low-light performance; Manual focus ring; Gorgeous, large display

Detail loss due to excessive noise reduction; Pop-up flash is delicate; Slippery body makes it hard to get a grip

Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-RX100 Review: Simply Amazing

The Sony RX100 packs a lot of image quality punch into a truly shirt pocket portable compact digital camera. Shutter lag and autofocus performance are quite good, still image quality is on the high end of the pecking order for true compact digitals and the ability to operate in fully automatic mode...

Excellent still image quality; Good autofocus and shutter lag performance; Good ISO performance given resolution; Full manual controls along with fully automatic and RAW shooting format

Cost; No external battery charger; Below average printed user's manual; RAW converter must be downloaded

Sony DSC-RX100 Review

The Sony DSC-RX100 is by no means a DSLR replacement, but it is definitely a strong companion for those who are used to DSLR-like quality and features. There's a lot to love about the RX100 like the compact form factor, the control ring on the lens, the fast aperture and the larger than usual...

Compact form factor; Large 1-inch sensor for great image quality; Fast f/1.8 aperture allows low light shooting; Excellent Build Quality

Lack of ergonomic grip; Control ring doesn't have stops; so rotating it feels a little arbitrary; No hot shoe for external flash; No optical viewfinder
