Dynamic vocal microphone (hyper) cardioid. is not nothing else, on pain of being disappointed. OVERALL OPINION
I've used SM58s my entire live sound career. They are still the standard just about anywhere I go. But, when I've had the opportunity to use this Sennheiser mic, I'm reminded how much I prefer it over the SM 58.
Sound quality; durability
Not popular enough
These are really solid microphones at a great price, and if you ever do events with other groups its great to have these because most others have shure mics so you have no problem with what belongs to who.
Clear Sound
The Sennheiser E835 is the same price and has much more versatility and smart design.
Great Sennheiser quality at really low price Wider frequencyrange than SHURESM58 Indestructible Sleak design
Bass feature can make bass little floppy says www.humanbeatbox.com; they hit low beats though
I have been using this mic for about 5 months and, I own sm58's but, I have to say that I usually go to this mic for my performance. When we setup I get both mics out and, plug them both in to my mic cable and, the e835 wins.
I tested the Audix OM2, the Shure SM58, and the Sennheiser e835 as all were in my price range. I loved the sound of this mic. It was rich, bright, and was not dry like the SM58. I ended up buying the Audix for my Karaoke Business (given the drunk nature of karaoke-ers!
Rich Warm Crisp Sound; Light.

The Sennheiser E835 is a fantastic mid-range dynamic mic. I own a few and use them on live vocals cutting through a band, speech for awards shows, as well as 'emergency' tom-tom mics in a recording environment! They have excellent feedback rejection and a good warm tone.
Solid feel; excellent feedback rejection; low handling noise
