Since having two WD green drives fail on me i just went straight to this because a friend recommended it and I can honestly say hasn't failed and for a gaming pc / media centre its perfect for storage.

First time in a long while I have bought Seagate. I usually buy WDs for their reliability and performace. Bought these as they were nearly $20 cheaper for the same size, cache and performance as the WDs. (HDD prices are too high anyway, they need to come down).
Single platter 1TB drive for under $100; Light weight, allows for excellent handling for file compression
Update---Drive's I/O interface failed after four years of use; The dirve motor was still running but the I/O would not work; This should not happen after only four years; I have never had a WD drive fail like this before; Some of my WD drives are nine years old and still healthy and going strong.
Rebuilt 2 drives in a Raid 1 before lunch, THANK YOU will call XOXO. Average is 160-180, @ idle peaks to 210 MBytes/Sec...WOW. I guess you cant give a good warranty a drive you have to make under water.
Fast; Quiet; runs cool
Cost; Warranty
These are great drives. They are 4K but you don't have to worry about whether you are running it on a 4K or a 512b system. Even if the alignment is off it still runs just as efficient.
We do a lot of recording with our DAW here DES Studio. So we need are hard drives to work. That's why we use The Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 ST1000DM003 - 1TB
A good harddrive, however maybe I am just noticing now after 2.5 years of use, but startup times are starting to get a little slow, as this is my boot drive.
Drive is roomy fast and quiet. One problem with install. The drive would not boot after cloning. Had to go into bios. In the boot order, The C: drive had disapeared from the choices. Never had that happen before. Am upgrading for space only.
I purchased two of these drives to run in a RAID array in my system. They installed easily, setup quickly, and are working great. Also much quieter that the older WD drives they replaced. I would purchase them again, with out question.
Easy to order, no runaround, fast delivery, good packaging, 5*
Not the largest, not the cheapest, but of very just value and reliability for the price.
