We review the Samsung Galaxy S3, the Android device that is the successor to our 2011 phone of the year
Fantastic performance; Elegant design; Great screen and camera
Plastic casing is lacklustre; Samsung extras like S Voice feel gimmicky
The Galaxy S3 is powered by Samsung's Exynos quad-core 1.4GHz processor, which is better than the previous rendition. It features a 4.8 Amoled HD screen. The screen makes it easier to watch videos and do everything you love. It comes is a variety of colours which include marble white, garnet red, and pebble blue. The battery last a long time and with the 2G phone, talk time can be up to 21 hours without having to recharge it. With the 3G phone, one can talk for 11 hours without needing to charge the phone.
S-Voice is a creative new feature, which allows users to control their phone through a voice recognition systems. Now, Samsung Galaxy S3 GT can ask their phone pertinent questions.
The best part is that the phone tracks your eyes, which means that the phone won't dim or turn off while you are looking at it. This is an excellent new user friendly feature.
One of the top features is direct call. No longer do users need to hit the call button. They can hold the device to their face and the number will be automatically dialed.
Smart Alert is another excellent featureon the Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-i9300 16GB. This 8MP camera comes with a 20 shot burst mode, which helps to deliver the best photo.
Another highlight of the Samsung Galaxy S GT is Face Zoom and Slide Show. Simply double tap the face to zoom and the automatic slide show will begin.
For those who enjoy social networking, you will love the camera integration. With this camera, pictures can be tagged automatically. Furthermore, there is the ability to send images to people who are in the photos. This app is called Buddy Photo Share. Finally, groups tag allows users to tag multiple people at once.
With this phone, you will get S-Beam which allows files to be transferred at high speeds. File transfer can be completed with NFC or WiFi Direct. All Share Play and Cast allows users to share what is on their phone to a television and use their phone as a remote.

Not since the arrival of the iPhone 4S has a mobile phone been quite so hotly anticipated as the Samsung Galaxy S3 . It's expected to be top of the Android tree and Samsung has thrown everything at it, including Android Ice Cream Sandwich, a quad-core processor, an 8-megapixel camera and a stonker...
Light and thin; 4.8in 720p HD sAMOLED screen; Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich; quad-core processor; 8 megapixel camera
Not cheap; packed with features but quality varies; no HDMI connection
The Samsung Galaxy S III launches a hype level typically reserved for the Apple iPhone for good reason given Samsung's reputation for quality handsets. Does this smartphone deliver?
Great design and display; Plenty of new smartphone features; Superb performance
Sharing features largely limited to Samsung devices; Thin build leads to some awkward handling
One of the most highly anticipated Android phones of the year is the Samsung Galaxy S III. This smartphone comes with a number of new features we haven't seen on other phones including S Voice (improved voice control functionality), new sharing features, NFC features including Samsung's new TecTiles...
Last year Samsung solidified its position as the dominant Android smartphone manufacturer with the Galaxy S II. The massive success of this phone helped propel Samsung into becoming the largest mobile phone manufacturer in the world.
Blistering performance; great camera; useful software features
Glossy plastic construction; may be too big for some users
I've been a long time user of Samsung smarpthones since the original Galaxy S, and my current personal device is a Galaxy Nexus. Still, I wouldn't consider myself a Samsung fan, as I switch smartphones often enough.
The Galaxy S3 boasts a Quad-core 1.4GHz processor, huge 4.8" screen and an 8MP camera boosted by a plethora of image-tweaking software. All this made to run seamlessly with Android 4.0
When Samsung launched its popular Galaxy S III Android smartphone in Australia back in May, the company said it was "confident" the lack of a 4G model wouldn't hinder sales of the 3G model. Over four months later, a 4G version of the Galaxy S III has hit Aussie shelves. The Samsung Galaxy S III 4G is certainly capable of super fast data speeds on the Telstra and Optus 4G networks, but all that extra speed comes at a cost of precious battery life.
The Samsung Galaxy S III 4G takes all that we loved from the original Galaxy S III and adds 4G network capability. It certainly achieves impressive, super fast data speeds on the Telstra and Optus 4G networks and the latest software is as fast and smooth as ever. Unfortunately, all that extra speed comes at a cost of precious battery life.
Excellent 4G speeds; Slick and fast software; Same great display and design;
Mediocre battery life; Can't edit home screen dock;
got the phone in November an sale for $50. I still feel like I got ripped off. All I got was an entry level phone with a very large screen. for a so-called high end phone you get a camera that is comparable to the flagship phone's of 2009, in a cheaply built phone.
the front half is built strong; better than average battery; gorilla glass
can't turn off camera sound effects, cheap built on the back half of the phone, volume and power button push to easily; prop the phone up on its side for a video and the phone own weight will mute or power down the phone, BSI sensors for camera are cheap.
We have already reviewed the Samsung Galaxy S III in the past, but when we had the opportunity to get the device in again - in order to test the cases we are giving away in a competition - we thought it would be great to re-review the handset now that Jelly Bean (4.1.1) had been loaded and also if
