Samsung refines its popular Note handset, and the result is a beast of a smartphone
Samsung are often credited with starting the "big phone" trend. I remember reading about the first Galaxy Note when it was announced; it seemed ludicrous. I mean, who would ever want a phone with a 5.3-inch screen?
Best phone Samsung has made; Great camera; Improved S-Pen
Screen isn't great outdoors; Fingerprint reader is hard to use; Will be too big for some
There was a time when a Samsung Galaxy Note was the only viable option for someone who wanted a large phone. Then the market started to shift, screens became larger and 5" is now the norm – even the guys who said " no one's going to buy a big phone " are making a big phone .
S-Pen; Expandable storage via Micro-SD slot; Large screen and battery
S-pen can be difficult to remove; Fingerprint scanner can be unreliable; Larger than the average phone
The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is a great phablet with plenty of extra features and functionality, providing more value for the price over most other devices in this category and price range.
S-Pen; screen
Needs to reduce the number of pre-installed apps
Perhaps the most impressive release of Samsung this year points to the Galaxy Note 4. The Korean company went all-out both on the hardware and material design. Check out our full review of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 below.
* Premium build; * Large; impressive display screen; * Great performance; * Huge RAM capacity; * Long battery life; * Great camera performance and quality; * IR Remote
* Quite expensive; * Some bloatware
Samsung's Note series has gained a loyal following by combining premium hardware with phablet defining features. They aren't flashy or hip or trendy. They are meant for power users and professionals who use their phones for getting real work done.
Build quality ? Camera ? Expandable storage ? Internal storage ? Removable battery ? Screen ? SoC ? Software features
External speaker placement ? Slow-motion video ? Thermal throttling ? UI latency and stuttering when scrolling
While the tech industry is a fast paced and constantly moving one, there are few things that can be considered constant and one of them happens to be the release of a new Samsung GALAXY Note device every year.
Stunning design and build quality; Brilliant display; Superb camera; Powerful hardware
Price; Soft-texture back cover; Not waterproof
Looking like the result of a night of vigorous rumpy-pumpy between a Galaxy Note 3 and a Galaxy Alpha, Samsung's Galaxy Note 4 is a solid if unspectacular improvement on the previous model.
Lets set the record straight; the Note 4 isn't as revolutionary as we've seen before and may even be a small disappointment to the most critical of Android users. But what it's however is a small improvement in nearly area of the device.
