The system is really cute and portable, but I prefer the 3DS. This is a good product to buy for people who hate the 3D on the 3DS and want a portable system.

This is very expensive and even costlier than the NEW 3DS XL. Very bad Nintendo.

The 2DS is clearly Nintendo's attempt to make a more accessible handheld for kids. It succeeds in putting parents at ease with its lower price and hinge-free design (and 2D screen, if the effects of 3D are a concern).

A bit clunky compared with either version of the 3DS or the Sony PlayStation Vita

There can be a lot of frustration in a lot of corners of the video game industry because we want different things. Companies target specific audiences with certain products. There has been hate out there by some concerning the Nintendo 2DS. Why?

The Nintendo 2DS isn't a replacement, nor a successor to the Nintendo 3DS, it is a new addition to the Nintendo 3DS family. It plays all Nintendo DS and 3DS games in 2D, omitting the 3D effect for those who simply wouldn't use it and offering a more affordable price-point for parents wanting to...

The Nintendo 2DS feels like a budget device and it has no 3D screen capabilities. If you can get over those two caveats then this console offers the best value for money on the market at the moment.

Combine this with the removal of the 3D feature and you have a device tailor made for the younger end of the gaming spectrum – Nintendo had previously advised parents to switch off the 3D feature for children under 7 years old. These changes have also had half an eye on the bottom line.

Didn't need or want 3D so went for the 2DS and couldn't be happier. Battery life isn't bad, I run on half brightness and charge nightly and hasn't run flat while in use. Overall feel is comfortable and i was surprised that it fits in my pockets.

I have opened and charged the 2ds. I have downloaded Netflix and several games. I have watched a couple of movies, the picture is awesome. Can't wait to see the face on my 6 year old grandson Christmas!!

Amazingly. I was sent the wrong DS. But I'm happy. I sent for the regular black blue one and ended up with the second option of Mario kart installed in it. I AM THROUGHLY HAPPY!!!! By all means. This was the best WRONG ITEM confusion I have ever received. THANKS. THE MARIO KART WAS WORTH IT.
