Amazing Lens. Highly recommend for all folks who invest in a good NikonDSLR

Absolutely fantastic from every angle. A Must have portrait lens for DSLR enthusiasts. The bokeh is just tremendeus. This has now become my daily shoot lens for all sort of photographs. It is crisp and photos are super sharp. This lens also allows you to keep the camera in a case much smaller.

Nikon AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.4G Review

The Nikon AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.4G ($484.95 direct)($376.95 at Amazon) is the company's most recent standard-angle D-SLR lens. It offers improvements over previous versions, including improved coatings, and an internal focus motor, but it eliminates the aperture ring so you won't be able to use it on older manual focus 35mm cameras. Full-frame Nikon shooters will appreciate its classic standard-angle field of view, and it works equally well as a short telephoto portrait lens when paired with an APS-C Nikon SLR. The lens is an excellent performer with sharpness that is excellent at f/1.4 and off the charts as you stop down, easily earning it our Editors' Choice award for standard-angle prime SLR lenses. Typically, 50mm lenses are rather compact when compared with wide-angle or telephoto SLR lenses, and this Nikkor lens is no exception. It measures just 2.1 by 2.9 inches (HD) and weighs a mere 9.9 ounces. A lens hood is included—it twists via a bayonet and adds some height to the le...

The Nikon AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.4G is a fast-aperture standard-angle lens for Nikon D-SLRs. It's tack sharp, even at f/1.4, and earns our Editors' Choice award.

Awesome picture and built quality

Very good built quality and high end glass used. Not as sharp with wide open aperture but overall extremely well performing fast lens. Does not have VR so slow shutter speed may be an issue. Maximum bokeh is only achievable if used of FX camera's. Won't notice much of a difference in the DX range.

Fabulous lens for the price

I am relatively new to the world of true photography, so the 50mm lens is taking a little getting used to. I tried working with it for kids photos, and have to figure out the "sweet spot." I have a D7000 body and am still learning that, too.

Good speed and clear images

..don't expect sharpness wide open unless you plan very carefully. Beautiful transition from focused area outward- this lens' specialty. A lot of chromatic aberration remains @ f/ 1.4 in high contrast areas, necessitating correction in post if you suffer from pixel-peeperism.

I am very happy with my purchase.

Pros: Drawing Is An Excellent, Light intensity, Af Is Fast, The Focus Is On A Quiet, Excellent Pokeh, Focus Can Very Cons: Is Not A Macro Other thoughts: The lens is optically as good as new even though it is refurbished. The product was involved in UV filter and lens hood.

Nikkor AF-S 50mm f1.4G

The Nikkor AF-S 50mm f1.4G was announced in September 2008 as the company's flagship standard prime lens. It shares the same bright f1.4 aperture and standard focal length as the much older AF 50mm f1.4D, but features an SWM focusing motor, which means it'll autofocus quickly and quietly on all...

The most affordable f1.4 prime from Nikon; Great image quality on DX and FX bodies; Quiet and reliable AF operation; Small and light; Weather sealing at the lens-mount

Longitudinal CA can be outright nasty; Coma shows in high-contrast situations; Some nervousness in background Bokeh; No image stabilization
