Micro-Nikkor AF 60mm f/2.8 D - Review / Test Report

As the name implies the Nikkor is a macro lenses with a min. focus distance of 0.22m resulting in a max. object magnification of 1:1. The build quality of the lens is very decent thanks to an outer barrel made of good quality polycarbonate with a sleek finish.

Best Macro lens For the Money...By Far!

Cames quickly in MINT condition! Excellent optics that will work for all but the most critical scientific applications and even then I'd use it. Nice solid brass construction for those who don't like poly carbonates. Heavy and reliable!

You want Macro, I'll give you Macro! I removed this lens from it's box after purchasing and was very pleased with the weight of this sucker, and then I used it. The results were amazing, sharp, fast, and easy to use. The deep lens element negates the need for a lens hood in most situations.

* Fast; * Sharp at Portrait or Macro Photography; * Heavy; well built

* Looses a stop when focused right in

Fantastic Macro Lens

This is an absolutely fantastic lens. It's extremely sharp. The autofocus is very fast, even though it's not an AF-S lens. The AF is fast enough to cover sports which require short lenses such as basketball. The field of view on DX bodies allows it to double as a portrait lens.

Consistent Output; Fast / accurate auto-focus; Lightweight

More than just a macro lens

I had the legendary 105 2.8 macro but never used it b/c of the extending barrel and just too long. This guy is compact, pretty light and really sharp, I mean really sharp. Ultra sharp macro (use a tripod, always) and I love it on the street or in the back country. This is a really sharp lens.

Durable; Fast / accurate auto-focus; Nice Bokeh; Rugged

Nikon calls their macro lenses "micro-Nikkors". This is a bit odd considering that they only focus down to 1:1 (still in the macro range) and that they are anything but micro in size. The series includes a 60, a 105, and a 200. My favorite lens is the 60.

Nikon AF Micro Nikkor 60mm f/2.8D Lens Review

Nikon AF Micro Nikkor 60mm f/2.8D was first introduced in 1993, replacing a short-lived non-D variant of the lens. Nikon recently updated this classic macro prime - Nikon AF-S Micro Nikkor 60mm f/2.8G ED was announced in 2008 and incorporates an AF-S focusing system along with a tweaked optical and...

Nikon 60mm f/2.8D AF Micro Lens

While I hope to create a full Nikon 60mm f/2.8D AF Micro Lens, my first priority is to include results from this lens in the lens comparison tools available on the site. This page currently exists because it is required by the database and content management systems for me to post information and...

I had bought this one before it got a "D" at the end of its name but it's the same lens. I shot it on F501, F801, D200, D800E and adapted it to Sony NEX 7. With any camera I got wonderfull close up pictures.

Very good image quality

All plastics; would not last for eternity
