Needed an inexpensive 4GB+ flash drive to use as a bootable install drive for any one of several OSes. This fit the bill. It takes a while to copy the images over but its quick to boot from.

Decent sequential and random read speeds; 16GB for cheap; Small; Solid and simple construction

Write speed is pretty slow, even for large sequential transfers; I let a coworker borrow it and they never returned it
