Harman Kardon Esquire Mini Speaker: Australian Review

There are dozens of Bluetooth speakers available in Australia today that follow a standard template: internal rechargeable battery, Bluetooth, microphone for handsfree calls, and a set of mono or stereo speaker drivers to make the best use of that precious remaining chassis space.

Beautiful design; grille; Involving; warm sound quality; USB mobile device charging

Middling battery life; Low maximum volume level; Minor design quibbles

one of the best gadgets ever.......

This is definitely one of the best gadgets I have ever bought. Responds immediately to BT and the sound is awesome. Where this unit really shines is in conference calls. I work in the corporate world and I've used many 'state of the art' conferencing systems and this one rivals them all.

Ultra portable speaker with a decent performance for the price.

Long battery life, great connectivity responses via Bluetooth and super light weight. A great device at a good price. Some tracks can sound a bit thin and tinny when you crank the volume up but apart from that, it was a good purchase and highly recommended.

Review: Harman/Kardon Esquire Mini

When you need better sound, you can always rely on a portable speaker, but Harman/Kardon's Esquire Mini doesn't just provide a decent sound, it packs in a useful battery, too.

Bright and detailed sound; Louder than you'll expect; Includes a stand that pushes out easily; Includes a battery built-in to charge your other devices; Very compact; Battery indicator (lights) on the side; Chargeable using microUSB

Not a lot of bass; Hard to clean

Good for listening, perfect portable...

Built Perfect. Nice brown colour. Easy connectivity. It can also charge your phone in case of power failure !! Now the main thing:.. Sound quality is nice, Bass is not powerful but with such a compact device one could not expect whooping bass. Sound clarity is good enough.

Harman Kardon Esquire Mini Bluetooth Portable Speaker

Inside the box I found Esquire Mini wireless speaker, a USB cable, a leather wrist strap and paperwork. I was surprised- shocked actually- that the speaker didn't come with any sort of protective carrying bag or punch.

Small size; Good sound; Built-in stand; Easy controls; Works with Bluetooth connection or a wired one; Excellent speakerphone thanks to dual-microphones; Solid build

No included protective pouch; Battery life is okay but not great

Review: Harman Kardon Esquire Mini Bluetooth Speaker

They say you can't judge a book by its cover. True that. However, you usually can assume quite a bit by that cover. When I first saw the Harman Kardon Esquire Mini portable Bluetooth speaker ($150), I knew it was something special.

BUYER BEWARE - POOR TO NO PERFORMANCE

CAUTION: This speaker is the most frustrating bluetooth speaker if you are using a Mac or Apple product. I've had nothing but problems with this speaker. I wanted to use it for travel but it's so useless from a connection perspective, you spend more time trying to connect than enjoying your music.

Harman Kardon Esquire Mini review: Wireless HK pocket speaker doesn't sound quite as good as it looks

Harman Kardon's Esquire Mini is one of those products you'd love to receive as a gift, but you might hesitate to acquire on your own for $150 (£124.95 UK, $229 AU). It's part Bluetooth speaker, part high-quality portable speakerphone and part external battery charger. It's also one slick-looking product, with a slim unibody design (238 grams or 8.1 ounces) and retractable kickstand.

The Harman Kardon Esquire Mini is a great-looking micro Bluetooth speaker that works quite well as a speakerphone, but is bass-challenged, so it isn't much of a music speaker.

The Harman Kardon Esquire Mini Bluetooth speaker has a slim, sleek design, and a built-in kickstand; It makes for an excellent speakerphone and can also charge your phone.

Since it doesn't have much bass it doesn't sound great with music; a little pricey.
