We absolutely loved Fable III. Scoring an impressive 89%, the game featured familiar Fable threads of becoming the hero, making morality choices that affect the world, and ultimately becoming the all-powerful ruler of Albion.
However, in the end, The Journey feels like just another motion control title that markets itself as adventurous and bold, but which exposes itself as everything but through its on-rails gameplay, over sensitive motion controls and complete lack of fun.
+ Albion is detailed and vibrant; + Humorous and charming characters
- On-rails gameplay is repetitive; - Combat is a guessing game; - Controls for steering are too sensitive
The Fable Franchise is one of the core IP's for Xbox and I have enjoyed them for many great hours since the first one on the original Xbox, I even took a day off work on launch day to get stuck into it.
So far the fable series have just been increasing in epicness from fable on xbox all the way to fable 3 on xbox 360, so hopefully this fable wont be a let down
The arrow is buried deep in the horse's side. You wave your arms while uttering soothing words, trying to calm the frightened animal. Once the horse is docile, you approach your four-legged friend slowly, careful not to upset her, and then rest your hand gingerly on the protruding arrow.
Strong relationship building; Well-realized Kinect controls; Smart pacing gives you ample time to rest; Beautiful visual design
Motion controls don't always register properly
First things first, this item did not come with the DLC mentioned in the description (more likely a pre order thing). Being a big Fable fan I was going to get this at some point anyway and I enjoyed it.
Happy with Game and the Delivery of the Vendor
The fatal flaw of Kinect games is that they are built on a foundation of lies. You are the controller -- except most games control much of the action themselves to make up for the lack of input.
The time has finally arrived for the next chapter in the Fable saga as Lionhead unleash their Kinect only title Fable: The Journey.
+ Wonderful design; + Intuitive controls.
- Too linear; - Kinect often fails to register commands; - Lack of options.
