Crysis 3 review – technical?demonstration

The excellent multiplayer deserves to be the focus here, rather than the repetitive, humourless, and largely artless first person shooting of the single-player campaign.

Superb graphics are amongst the best of the generation; The nanosuit is still an interesting idea and the bow is great; Multiplayer mode is hugely entertaining

Bland set pieces and unremarkable weapons and enemies; Uneven artificial intelligence, and unbalanced difficulty; Story and characters make zero impact

Crysis 3 Review

There are aliens out there in the chin-high foliage. You hear the rustling and glimpse a black carapace between blades of grass, but you can't tell if you're being stalked by a single grotesque beast, or a horde of them.

Beautiful visuals that present a unique mix of the natural and the industrial; Each weapon; including the new bow; is a pleasure to shoot; Open levels and nanosuit powers provide combat flexibility; Entertaining multiplayer modes

Remarkably easy; all the way to the end; Lacks the standout battles of earlier games in the series; AI is easily exploited

Crysis 3 - Review

Crysis 3 is probably the prettiest game you'll ever see on a PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 . The PC version really pushes the boundaries in terms of tech, but its console cousins are no slouches, either.

That's the good news; On the down side, Crysis 3 sometimes struggles to live up to its promise; None of its guns are as memorable as the weapons you wield in a Halo or a Call of Duty game, for example, while the campaign's fairly short and filled with the sort of set-pieces you're likely to have...

Short campaign; Disappointing gunplay; Set-pieces are a bit predictable

Crysis 3

The Crysis series has always been known best for its impressive visuals, and Crysis 3 carries on that tradition, but is it a step too far for this console generation?

Crysis 3 - review

Crysis 3 puts you back in the alien-DNA-enhanced nanosuit of the Prophet, a man beset by strange visions as well as a tasty suite of abilities including night vision, brief invisibility or invincibility and the capacity to hack enemy hardware.

Crysis 3 review: Be the ultimate predator

has the power to be both magnificent and maddening. Using the vessel of the billion dollar Nanosuit, the game makes you once more feel like the ultimate predator, and only Rocksteady's

A Beautiful Bore

When it comes to reviewing games, the only absolute is that no matter how good something looks or how good it should be, nothing can be safely assumed until a controller is in hand and things are happening on screen. Crysis 3 was a perfect reminder.

The new bow is pretty sweet

The final boss is everything that's wrong with boss fights

Crysis 3 Review

At this point it's expected for Crysis 3 to be a beautiful game, and it is. For those that have played the original Crysis or Crysis 2, you know the joys of the Nanosuit. You know just how much fun it is to play as the silent killer or bullet sponge, and how both are completely interchangeable and...
