Canon EOS Rebel T4i / 650D Review

The Canon EOS Rebel T4i / 650D delivers 18 megapixels of professional grade image quality in a compact , lightweight , feature-filled , easy-to-use body that carries a very affordable price tag. That is the same opening line I used for the Canon EOS Rebel T3i/600D DSLR review .

The EOS 650D shares quite a lot with the existing 600D, but with enough upgrades and additional features to extend its appeal across the gamut of beginners to enthusiast-level shooters.

Canon EOS 650D/Rebel T4i Review

There was a lot of excitement recently as Canon launched its EOS 5D Mark III, which answered many ‘wants' that arose from the previous Mark II model and, while not replacing the earlier camera, the newcomer still kept the excitement going.

Canon 650D 18MP Triple Lens Battery Bundle

Very happy with the way the transaction was handled. I got exactly what was expected and the item was delivered 1 day earlier. Excellent service and good value for money.

"A nice, entry-level camera, though not much of an upgrade"

This camera is an incredible machine with some qualities of higher-end professional cameras. The main difference between this camera and the 600d is the touch screen, which comes with the 650d for another almost 250 US dollars.

high megapixel sensor; nice grip; built in flash

pricey; poor autofocus system

Nice entry level DSLR.

This was my first DSLR. I have played a lot with it and really enjoyed. Really detailed pictures, so many cool features, amazing quality.

Canon EOS 650D: Great entry level DSLR

I'm lucky enough to get to use pretty much all DSLR, when students bring them on my workshops, and I have to figure them out in order to explain their functions. I use 450Ds as loan cameras, and 5D for myself, but I was pleasantly surprised at this little camera from Canon.

Substituting the button controls for touch screen proved to be surprisingly snappy as Canon's implementation of touch screen makes the simplest tasks much faster, even if you never realised you needed it. Instead of pressing buttons to reach to a particular tab, you can just touch it now.

Canon EOS 650D: Review

The first cameras were all with the touch screen compact, since the choice of pressing with your finger on the screen was linked to the choice of saving space by removing some traditional controls such as dials and buttons.

Fully adjustable screen; type tactile interface and well designed; King's sense of proximity that turns off the screen when not in use; Image quality

Body a little small and unbalanced; Shutter sounds a bit metal
