I was all but ready to give up on the Assassin's Creed series after last year's disappointing entry. I'd accepted that ACII would never be beat, that with it the formula had come as close as it would to perfection.

With plenty of things to do in the single player game and also its multiplayer; Ubisoft have made this one of the best Assassin's Creed experiences to date. It truly is a remarkable game and puts you in a world of true pirates and a colourful world to roam around in.

I'm going to start this review off with a fact. I am an Assassin's Creed fan. An avid one. I adore the series to death. But to do the series justice, you can count on this review to be as completely equal-grounded and unbiased as possible.

People sure do enjoying slamming the Assassin's Creed series for being Ubisoft's yearly cash cow, but those who do so are overlooking a bold, innovative new feature that's been added to this most recent entry: players now have the option to assign ratings, on a five-star scale, to the game's story...

Another year has passed, and with it an additional Assassin's Creed game arrives in time for the Christmas season. After diverting the series to the American civil war era with last year's Assassin's Creed III, Ubisoft has this year moved it to the age of high seas and piracy with Assassin's Creed...

Well-tuned ship mechanics that make sailing and sea combat a breeze; No extended tutorial mode stopping you from enjoying the story

All of the side quests and added content can be overwhelming; Story and setting not quite as interesting as the renaissance era

Aside from the Freerunning insensibilities from AC3, the game is awesome with over 100s of locations, including uncharted islands. Ed's story gets more interesting. Good graphics, PC version will be more epic!

The thing that makes Assassin's Creed games so unique is that each installment allows you to explore exciting places. To add to that, you get to go on an action packed adventure, except this time you are a pirate. For many this is the reason to come back to the dying franchise.

Over all I think this game gets a 9 out of 10 because there may be a few problems here and there, but all games are like that. this game would be great for people that like to be stealthy and strategic, or someone who likes pirates and big cannons and ships.
