The MacBook Air 2020 is a great laptop. If you’re a student or just someone who want a thin and light Mac that can be had for under a grand, then I don’t think you’ll be disappointed in the slightest.

New keyboard is a huge improvement; The most affordable Mac; Design still holds up; Great speakers and fast Touch ID;

Performance not as good as Windows rivals; Little improvement to battery life; Terrible webcam; Port layout is a bit annoying;

With a brilliant keyboard and solid performance, the entry level MacBook Air is once again the best Apple laptop for most people despite the battery life taking a hit if you don’t use Apple’s apps.

Only two USB-C ports; Battery life not as advertised; Garbage webcam;

Id give this a three outa five the 1.1ghz is a bit lacklustre at times under load and I dont like the auto overclock feature that never seems to activate. Its self determined performance but the max itself is pretty clean and streamlined Im usually a windows user so its taking a bit to get used to navigating and using a Mac

So far, we’re liking the MacBook Air 2020 as it can handle our tasks given the limited hardware. If you’re a long-time Apple user, you can make this work and already understand the compromises.

Missed opportunity - or on purpose? The new 2020 MacBook Air is better thanks to an improved keyboard as well as more powerful CPUs. Many reviews even say it is the best MacBook you can get right now. If you have a closer look, however, you will still see the big problem with the performance and the cooling solution. Apple definitely missed an opportunity here.
