This game is a breath of fresh air.A strong third person shooter mechanic with a twist, you have to dig away at the protective dark shell of an enemy with your flashlight before being able to kill it outright which in my mind adds to the game as in the challenge is there.

Alan Wake Review (PC)

The 360 hit comes to PC, finally…… Alan Wake comes to PC, with Remedy finally fulfilling the ultimate broken promise: often delayed, repeatedly cancelled, a PC version of the Xbox classic that flew under the radar of so many.

Excellent creepy survival horror; Looks awesome; and has great atmosphere; Gripping story with nice twists and turns; Good; yet simple; combat mechanics; Lots of little extras; such as collectibles; bonus chapters; and expanded story material

Not massively groundbreaking; a little short; and lacking in any major replayability; leeches some ideas from other classic titles

Alan Wake Xbox 360

really is a game of contrast, multiple aspects feel like they were either deemed acceptable flaws or were simply a product of missing all the...

Interesting; engrossing story; Excellent music and sound design; Twist on conventional combat; Episodic presentation

Constant HUD; Cut-scene animations

Alan Wake: Limited Edition (Xbox 360)

Alan Wake has a few reasons’ preventing this from being a perfect game for the Xbox 360. Remedy, nor us the gamers, are perfect. Remedy did make the perfect title for the Xbox that we haven’t seen this generation.

Original Story; Graphics; Control

Character Animations; Character Lip-syncing; Replay Value

Alan Wake PC Review

The PC version of Alan Wake has been through quite a ride to finally get a release on the platform. It was originally slated to be released together with the Xbox 360 version, but Microsoft decided that " Alan Wake was a game that was best played from a couch in front of a large TV screen.

Alan Wake: The Writer Review

At least those of us who played the expansions didn't get a leg up on the disc-only folk. This appears to have been Remedy's goal, after all. From the outset, they've dulled the bold strokes of the Alan Wake concept in a desperation to ensure that everyone got the complete experience.

Alan Wake Review

It's hard to describe Alan Wake without giving the story away too much, let's just say it's a gripping action/horror game that has spawned two DLC packs since its 2010 release. With prices dropping to as low as £8.99 it's certainly worth investigating.

Alan Wake: The Writer DLC review

Alan Wake's final piece of DLC, The Writer, may frustrate some players, but those who can forego closure for intrigue are in for a treat, writes Nick Cowen.

Alan Wake Review

I was excited to give Alan Wake a go. Make no mistake, it's not the sort of game I usually pick up. I like simple and fun games like Mario Kart – I tend to avoid games where people are shooting at me, because it makes me feel slightly oppressed.

Survival Horror, Action You put the lime in the coconut and drink ‘em both up. Writers eh Bunch of whiney bastards, sitting around typewriters and laptops alike, punching keys like a thousand monkeys on a thousand typewriters in the vague hopes that something mildly coherent will be produced.
