Apple iPhone 4
No phone has been as anticipated this year as Apple's update to its hugely popular iPhone 3GS, this time bringing in new hardware and a new design to complement a new operating system in iOS 4. We thought HTC Desire fever was big, but nothing can beat iPhone fever.
Pros:
- High resolution screen with great contrast
- touch response
- intuitive user interface
- App Store
- HD video play back
Cons:
- Price
- odd situation with network reception

iPhone 4
Continuing reception issues aside, the iPhone 4 is the best iPhone yet, and it's still one of the best smartphones on the market. After 4 years, the competition is catching up though, and we've seen this before with Apple.
Pros:
- Beautiful design
- sharp display
- Facetime
Cons:
- Not a phone you want to drop
- reception and call quality iffy

The political philosopher Steven Lukes argued that the mark of true power is the ability to make people want what you want them to have. If that's the case, there is currently no company stronger than Apple.

Apple iPhone 4 (Verizon Wireless)
There's something a little surreal about seeing "Verizon" in the upper left corner of an iPhone's screen. It signifies something monumental for those who have been waiting more than three years to get an iPhone that works on Verizon Wireless' network.
Pros:
- Solid 3G performance
- Personal hotspot feature
- Super-sharp Retina display
- Excellent camera and 720p camcorder
- Best-in-class App Store
Cons:
- Can't use voice and data simultaneously
- Doesn't support global roaming
- No 4G

Review: The Verizon iPhone 4
Editor's Note: This article was originally published in February 2011 when Apple released 16GB and 32GB iPhone 4 models compatible with Verizon's CDMA network. In October 2011, Apple pared down its iPhone 4 offerings to a single 8GB model that worked on either GSM or CDMA networks.

Review: Apple Verizon iPhone 4
After years as an iPhone customer on AT&T, I forgot what it was like to have a reliable, working phone. But over the weekend, when I called buddies with both an AT&T iPhone 4 and subsequently a Verizon iPhone 4, we could immediately tell the difference.
Pros:
- It's a better phone, period
- More likely to pull a signal, even indoors - this could change the way we converse at bars
- Hot-spotting is well-integrated and very easy to use
- Has a whiter, slightly better-looking display
Cons:
- Slow data transfers compared to the AT&T iPhone
- Sluggish app installs take away from the App Store's instant gratification
- Video streams are compressed more heavily, so Netflix and YouTube are uglier
- No simultaneous voice and data transmissions thanks to the limitations of CDMA

Apple iPhone 4
The Apple iPhone 4 came onto the cell phone scene in 2010. When the iPhone 4 was introduced, the improved physical design was immediately evident, and the list of updates was impressive. To begin with, the iPhone 4 has a more stylish and hi-tech look than the earlier iPhone models.
