New 2017 iPad Review: Apple Offers a Budget Tablet

No reviews
Verdict: Apple's new 9.7-inch 2017 iPad doesn't come with a lot of surprises except for one, the $329 price tag Apple gave the 32GB model. It now competes with other budget tablets including the company's own

Review: Apple's 2017 9.7" iPad with A9 CPU isn't a game-changer, but it isn't supposed to be

4.5
Verdict: The 2017 9.7-inch iPad isn't intended to revolutionize Apple's tablet offerings, but it does go a long way to unifying the product line, and paving the way for the future of the platform -all starting at just $329.

iPad (2017) review: Perfect for first-time tablet buyers

4.0
Verdict: Conclusion One other thing to point out is that the new iPad does not include the Smart Connecter found on Apple's two current iPad Pro models. As such, it is incompatible with the company's Smart Keyboard attachment.
Pros: Affordable price (for an Apple product, Fast and capable A9 system-on-a-chip, 1.3 million apps specifically designed for the iPad
Cons: Non wide-gamut display that isn't fully laminated, Dated camera technology, Not compatible with Smart Keyboard or Apple Pencil

iPad 5th 9.7in 4G 128GB (2017)

5.0
Verdict: I've focused a lot in this review on what the new Apple iPad (2017) doesn't have and, although the existence of the iPad Pro series makes that inevitable, it isn't a particularly fair way to view it.

Apple iPad mini 2

4.5
Verdict: This latest release from Apple addresses one of the biggest concerns of the original iPad Mini . By adding a Retina display to the device, you can now enjoy the true iPad experience in a portable, smaller format.
Pros: Beautiful retina display, Fast performance, Useful pre-installed apps, Solid design
Cons: Price, Mediocre camera

Apple iPad mini 2 Review

5.0
Verdict: Apple found a lot of success with the original iPad mini. It delivered an Apple tablet experience in a smaller size and at a slightly more affordable price than the full fat iPad and people went mad for it. The only real problem it had was its screen which, frankly, wasn't all that.
Pros: Stunning design, Powerful, Good battery life

iPad 5th 9.7in 4G 128GB (2017)

4.0
Verdict: Nov 25 2013 - The iPad Mini with Retina display is such a huge improvement over the original that it is hard to use the new one and even consider looking at the older one. In essence, Apple has taken all the things they did with the iPad Air and then offered them in the smaller tablet and with a...

Apple's New iPad

No reviews
Verdict: Now the wait is over and the dust has settled, we take a closer look at the latest incarnation of Apple's iPad … So, no iPad 3. No iPad HD – in name, at least. Just a plain old, simple, ‘new' iPad .

Verdict: Listen, I don't have the greatest history when it comes to tablet relationships. We have… a checkered past . I was pitched on this fabled third device long ago, but I can't help but feel that we've all been hoodwinked.

Apple iPad Mini 2 with Retina display review

5.0
Verdict: If it wasn't for the tiny niggles of colour reproduction, performance and price, we'd give the iPad Mini with Retina display the overall tablet crown. Colours look slightly more vivid and accurate both on the iPad Air (which also performs ever-so-slightly better) and key, cheaper rivals such as the...
Pros: Gorgeous build, stunning Retina screen, All day battery life, Much faster than the original Mini
Cons: Very expensive compared to 7/8in tablets, No expandable storage, Marginally inferior colours compared to Air's screen

Review: Apple iPad (2017)

4.0
Verdict: Apple's big iPad problem is that it can't convince people to upgrade , because an iPad is just a screen you hold in your hands that runs some apps that do some stuff. For users, that's wonderful. If you already have an iPad you like, you don't need a new one.
Pros: The price finally feels right. The battery lasts forever. It does all the iPad things, and does them well
Cons: No Pencil support, no Smart Connector. Two speakers don't sound as good as four speakers. The screen's not as eye-popping as other iPads

iPad 5th 9.7in 4G 128GB (2017)

4.3
Verdict: Apple's newest iPad is a budget model that samples the best parts from past hits. We've got the original iPad Air's body stuffed with the iPhone 6s's A9 chipset and paired with a brighter version of the iPad Air 2's display. We have no complaints about performance, and battery life is excellent.

iPad (2017) review: With a stripped-down iPad for $329, you may not need to go pro

Verdict: If you don't need all the iPad Pro features or you just want to spend a lot less, this iPad is a great choice.
Pros: New lower price, starting at $329, Excellent battery life

Apple iPad (2017) review: the best feature is the price

4.4
Verdict: Here's what you need to know about the new iPad: it is an iPad, and it is good. Apple has named it simply iPad but we have to refer to it as "iPad (2017)" or "iPad (5th generation)" or "new iPad 9.7" because the world is a broken place. I am just going to call it the iPad.
Pros: It is an iPad, The price is reasonable, It's fast
Cons: Screen could be nicer, No smart connector for keyboards, Speakers only on one side

Apple iPad (2017) review

5.0
Verdict: The new Apple iPad (2017) surprised everyone when it was revealed on 21 March. We were all expecting the iPad Air 3. At least, that's what all the rumours pointed towards. Instead what we got was a hybrid of the original iPad Air and the iPad Air 2 – simply called the iPad (2017).
Pros: Cheap (for an iPad, Great performance, Generous storage
Cons: Screen isn't as good as iPad Air 2

iPad 5th 9.7in 4G 128GB (2017)

Verdict: In our review of Apple's original iPad mini last year, we remarked that its exceptional iOS app catalogue, outstanding build quality and super light weight were only let down by a mediocre screen.

Cons: More expensive than predecessor, Screen can't match iPad Air

Apple New iPad Video Review Part 1

No reviews
Verdict: It's no iPhone 5, but the Apple iPad 3 (which Apple is calling the new iPad) is an evolutionary bump from the iPad 2. New iPad 3 review

5.0
Verdict: The new iPad 3 is an improved version of the best tablet on the market, which makes the new iPad our number 1 slate by default. We'll see more true quadcore tablets from Apple's rivals before 2013, and they might boast some snazzier features too, but what they won't have is the might of the App...
Pros: Stunning screen, Best app and AV stores, Superb interface
Cons: Not a huge leap from iPad 2, Camera still awkward to use

New Apple iPad 2017 review: Solid, affordable replacement for the aging Air

4.5
Verdict: With the tablet market slowing down, and upgrade cycles being so long, Apple could perhaps have been forgiven for focussing mostly on its laptop-challenging Pro series. In fact, it's been almost two and a half years since the regular full-size iPads got a refresh.
Pros: Great app ecosystem, easy to use interface, slick and reliable performance, long lasting battery
Cons: Screen not quite as good as the iPad Air 2

iPad 5th 9.7in 4G 128GB (2017)

4.5
Verdict: The 2017 iPad's new, aggressive pricing is laser-guided to take down premium-priced Android equivalents. That, plus its impressive battery life and infinite well-curated apps, make it today's best-value tablet.
Pros: Newly competitive price for its screen size, Solid construction, Strong app ecosystem, Satisfying battery life
Cons: Incrementally thicker than predecessor, Slow charging

iPad 5th 9.7in 4G 128GB (2017)

4.5
Verdict: It's hard not to compare this fifth-generation iPad to the tablets that came before it as it's essentially a hodgepodge of hardware and components Apple already had lying around with the latest iOS software slapped on top. But a Frankenstein's monster this is not.
Pros: Respectable battery life, Sturdy and lightweight, Beautiful design, Affordable

Great tablet, fantastic price, and wife didn't mind me getting it first.

4.2
Verdict: Purchased my iPad (2017) at local store in Utah and am having a blast using it. Wife wanted me to get one first, next we get hers. Hmm... maybe if I can talk her into taking mine I can get the model with cellular.
Pros: Wonderful resolution/clear sound/lightweight/it's an iPad
Cons: could use more power/cellular not included at $329(wish it was)

Which Apple iPad mini should you buy? iPad mini 3 vs iPad mini 2 vs iPad mini 1

Apple new iPad review

5.0
Verdict: Apple released its latest iPad to much fanfare on Friday, 16 March. V3 got its hands on a 16GB Wi-Fi-only model and has been giving it a thorough test out over the weekend to see whether it lives up to the normal high expectations for any product out of Cupertino.
Pros: High-quality display, responsive, fast performance, good battery life, lightweight
Cons: 4G not available in UK yet, lack of killer new feature

Dear-ly beloved: Apple's costly iPad Mini with Retina Display

No reviews
Verdict: Review Last year's iPad Mini really was playing second fiddle to the regular iPad. Not merely smaller than its sibling, the Mini had a much lower resolution display. It had a less powerful processor too. It felt like a product Apple was obliged to make rather than one it actually wanted to.

Apple New iPad

4.0
Verdict: Apple just made the new iPad official and it comes with a Retina Display that goes up to 2048 x 1536 resolution with a pixel density of 264ppi. Apple's existing apps will be scaled up to the high-res display and will be encouraging developers to do the same
Pros: + Retina Display, + Tried and true design, + Good Battery life
Cons: - No LTE for most of us, - No major changes, - Apple iPad, - USB Dock Connector, - Charger, - 3.5mm headphone

Apple iPad (3rd Generation) Review

No reviews
Verdict: The anticipation for a new gadget can often be more exciting than getting the actual product in your hands. Apple's new iPad definitely offers some nice updates with the Retina display, 4G and improved camera, but is it a worthy upgrade for someone that already has an iPad 2?
Pros: Gorgeous display, Improved camera, 4G option, Fits in most iPad 2 cases you may already have, Bluetooth 4.0 will use less power and be a lighter drain on the battery
Cons: Thicker and heavier, Runs a little warmer than the iPad 2

The new Apple iPad - expert review

iPad 9.7in (2017) review

Apple iPad (2017)

5.0
Verdict: The Apple iPad (2017) may not set off any fireworks, operating on a ‘more of the same, but better' ethos – but what it does, it does very well indeed.
Pros: Fast, smooth performance, Bright screen and solid blacks, Rich colours, crisp detail, Beautiful design, Good starting price
Cons: Screen is rather reflective, No brand new features

iPad 5th 9.7in 4G 128GB (2017)

3.9
Verdict: A pple had one major problem with their iPad range. The original tablets were good enough to last for years if kept in good condition, which is why the company introduced the Air and Pro ranges. Finally, after almost five years, the company launched the 5th-generation edition earlier in 2017.

iPad 5th 9.7in 4G 128GB (2017)

4.5
Verdict: Amazon sells a Kids Edition of its Fire tablet, which is the exact same tablet they sell for adults, but in a kid-friendly case, with a year's worth of the FreeTime Unlimited service for kids apps and content. Apple does not do this. But at $329 for 32GB of storage, the new iPad is pretty close.

Apple iPad (2012) - Three Steps Forward, One Step Back

4.2
Verdict: Apple's third generation iPad comes with several new features such as a Retina display, A5X processor with quad-core graphics and a 5-megapixel rear camera with advanced optics. Can Apple maintain its lead over the other Android tablets this year? Let's find out.
Pros: Gorgeous display with 2,048 x 1,536 pixels, Better camera performance, Competitive price points
Cons: Heavier than its predecessor, Heats up easily, Low battery mileage when brightness level is at its highest

Apple iPad Review

4.2
Verdict: It's the best portable Web surfing device. The initial Wi-Fi version sort of limits where you can use it, though. You can wait for the 3G version and its $15-per-month AT&T 3G service, or get a MiFi from Sprint or Verizon (which also can be used with your laptop).
Pros: No manual necessary, Access to nearly all iPhone apps, 10-hour-plus battery life, Bright 9.7-inch IPS LCD screen, Three external buttons, Multi-directional accelerometer
Cons: Highly reflective screen, Slippery, No multi-tasking (yet, "Only" a few thousand iPad-specific apps (so far

Review: Apple iPad (2017)

4.2
Verdict: Here's an interesting fact for you: if you take the iPad mini out of the equation, Apple's sales of larger iPads actually rose last quarter. The release of the iPad Pro 9.7 coupled with the enduring popularity of the iPad Air 2 meant that, far from being in decline, the iPad was on the up.

Apple iPad (2017) Review

No reviews
Verdict: With its epic battery life, speedy performance and brilliant display, the 2017 iPad is the best tablet for the money and one of the best tablets overall. Apple iPad (2017) Tablet Review

4.0
Verdict: Old wine in new bottles – we hear this quite often when a manufacturer refreshes a supposedly old product. Especially when it is equipped with dated technology. This is also the case for Apple's latest iPad. The iOS tablet from 2017 is just that: recycled, dated hardware in an even older chassis.
Pros: bright display, accurate colors, precise touchscreen, excellent build quality, long battery runtime, high browser performance
Cons: outdated SoC, very glossy screen, old LTE standard, slightly increased black value, no support for Apple pencil

iPad mini 2 with Retina display review

4.5
Verdict: Update: While it doesn't tote the same Touch ID goods as the latest iPad Mini 4 , the Mini 2 still got a hearty update with the arrival of iOS 9.3. Night Shift brings intelligent color temperature-shifting tech to the iPad Mini 2.

Verdict: Introduction Apple had introduced the original iPad Mini without the RETINA display and that pretty much confirmed that the second generation of Apple iPad Mini would come with the RETINA display.
Pros: Excellent Build Quality and Premium Finish, Lot of tablet specific applications, Top notch performance, Excellent battery life
Cons: On the expensive side, Lack of expandable storage, Camera lacks flash and isn't great for lowlight performance, iOS 7 feels boring and same throughout

iPad 5th 9.7in 4G 128GB (2017)

4.5
Verdict: Despite the powerful internals laying inside the iPad mini’s aluminium shell, I found battery life to be impressive. Pros: Very portable, with a well built, well designed body. Retina display is very crisp, powered by fast, significantly upgraded hardware. iOS has by far the best selection of tablet apps going around
Cons: Pricey, especially for storage upgrades and the cellular model. Display color gamut is lacking

Apple Retina iPad mini

4.5
Verdict: Sometimes it's the little things. Introduced in late 2012, the iPad mini was as slow as the iPad 2 (which was then almost two years old). It didn't have the gorgeous Retina display that Apple had added to the iPad earlier in the year.
Pros: High-resolution Retina display; same A7 processor as iPad Air, High-resolution Retina display; same A7 processor as iPad Air
Cons: Camera not as good as on iPhones; no Touch ID fingerprint detector, Camera not as good as on iPhones; no Touch ID fingerprint detector

Apple iPad 3

4.6
Verdict: Apple has done a fine job with the iPad 3rd generation; it is a major upgrade from the iPad 1, and a middle of the road upgrade from the iPad 2.
