Apple iPad Review

By now, you've likely read a bunch of iPad reviews. There's no point in reading another review outlining every dimension, spec and feature. That'd be pretending that the iPad is like any other product you've seen before, and therefore can be reviewed using the same template.
Pros:
  • No manual necessary
  • Access to nearly all iPhone apps
  • 10-hour-plus battery life
  • Bright 9.7-inch IPS LCD screen
  • Three external buttons
  • Multi-directional accelerometer
Cons:
  • Highly reflective screen
  • Slippery
  • No multi-tasking (yet
  • "Only" a few thousand iPad-specific apps (so far

Apple iPad review: why it's a genuine leap forward

The most important part of any tablet, whatever the quad-core brigade may say, is the screen. Unlike any internal component, the screen is what you'll still be noticing a week after your purchase, the part upon which all of your attention is focused.

Apple iPad

The Apple iPad isn't an eBook reader, which makes it very hard to compare it to other eBook readers. It doesn't use e-ink technology, it's heavy, you can't read out of it in bright places, and the display will strain your eyes eventually.
Pros:
  • Amazing design
  • Most intuitive interface yet
  • Full-color screen
  • Wi-Fi and 3G wireless
  • Will do just about anything
Cons:
  • LCD display is hard to read from in bright places and will eventually strain your eyes
  • Battery lasts only ten hours
  • Heavy
  • Costs almost twice as much as the Kindle 2 or Nook
  • Additional 3G wireless fees apply (around $130

Apple iPad review

0 Flares 0 Flares × ‘Apple' - It is a name synonymous with a strong emotional response. Never has a company evoked such a dramatic reaction from the enthusiast userbase – you either love ‘em or hate ‘em, there is little room for middle ground.

Apple iPad

CNET.com 's Donald Bell has written a fantastic and comprehensive review of the Apple iPad that we first published shortly after the tablet's US release, and after using the iPad we absolutely agree with his analysis.

  • Apple has consolidated your Netbook
  • e-reader
  • gaming device
  • photo frame

  • Movie rentals
  • 10 hours of battery life
  • Optional 3G wireless
  • Most-celebrated App Store on the planet
Cons:
  • The iPad's large size is as much a hindrance as it is an advantage

Apple iPad (Fourth-Generation) (16GB/32GB/64GB/128GB)

One year. Two years. Perhaps even three years. Depending on the iPod, iPhone, or iPad model you purchased, it was safe to expect that first-day buyers would have at least a year-perhaps longer-before Apple discontinued the device, sharply reducing its resale value while introducing something...
Pros:
  • A technologically small but clear improvement upon early 2012's impressive third-generation iPad
  • featuring the same screen and rear camera
  • coupled with a faster processor and improved front camera.
Cons:
  • Switch to Lightning port currently offers nearly zero benefit to consumers, while considerably increasing both the cost of and need for new accessories
  • Continues to require longer recharging time than pre-Retina iPads when used with its own charger, and over six hours when charged from prior "Made...
