Apple iPad 4 (late 2012)
The new iPad is dead; long live the new, new iPad (4th Generation). We know that time seems to fly by, but don't panic, it doesn't move that fast, Apple, six months after launching the new iPad, aka the Apple iPad 3 , has released an updated version ahead of its yearly update schedule.
Pros:
- Retina display
- A6X processor
- Lightning connector
- battery life
- better Wi-Fi
- 4G EE support
Cons:
- Heavy
- big
- mobile data support is £100 premium

Now in its fourth iteration in two years, the Apple iPad continues its reign as king. The best large tablet you can buy today, the Apple iPad (4th Generation) has it all: top performance, a stellar screen, a surprisingly good camera, speedy Wi-Fi, and a breathtaking library of spectacular apps.
Cons:
- New Lightning connector means some old accessories won't work here

Apple sprung a surprise on the world when, at the same launch event as the iPad mini, it announced a newer version of its larger tablet. The fourth-generation iPad features a faster processor and graphics chip, plus the new Lightning connector and an upgraded front-facing camera.

Apple iPad with Retina Display (4th Gen, 2012)
This fourth-generation iPad has so much in common with the third generation released in March 2012 that we decided to forego many of the features here because we already discussed them in detail last March.
Pros:
- Retina display
- Small text is easy to read
- iOS 6 has tons of features
- Battery life
- Lots of apps
- A6X processor
Cons:
- Non-expandable memory
- Proprietary port / Closed "world" that may turn some off
- Maps still behind the competition
- Will the tiny Lightning connector be sturdy enough for docking stations

The 4th generation iPad is an outstanding improvement on an already fantastic product. Nothing revolutionary in terms of newness. Though there was no need to completely redefine the iPad.

Great product as always
Do not expect anything less from Apple and this product certainly meets those elevated expectations. Easier to use, fast and awesome display. Highly recommended.

iPad 4 review
The iPad 4 is definitely the best full-size iPad yet, but if you have a third-gen model, you may feel that six months is too soon to upgrade. Perhaps Apple thought the same, so it delivered a gentle rather than a killer upgrade, though the speed improvement over the last model is evident.
Pros:
- Faster processor
- Improved FaceTime camera
- UK-compatible 4G connectivity
Cons:
- Reduced battery life
- Not much change from iPad 3
- Too soon
