Apple iPad 2 review Review

Apple's iPad 2 is faster, lighter, thinner and better than its predecessor. But, if you want a tablet with Flash support and greater flexibility, an Android device may be a better bet.
Pros:
  • Thinner and lighter than ever
  • Plenty of apps available
  • Front and rear cameras
  • Easy to use
Cons:
  • No Flash support
  • Complex tasks are fiddly and take time
  • Difficult to transfer non-iTunes content back and forth

Apple iPad 2 review

Despite some operating system niggles, the otherwise slick iOS combined with elegantly designed hardware leads to some real, tangible benefits for the end user - such as excellent battery life. All this makes the iPad 2 the standard by which all other tablets will be judged.

Apple iPad 2 review

: Speedier and more streamlined than its predecessor, the iPad 2 is a wonderfully sleek next-gen device – which makes the lack of Flash video, and that clunky iTunes software even more noticeable.
Pros:
  • : Very sleek and stylish
  • lots of iPad apps
  • especially new media and magazines
  • video calling facilities
Cons:
  • : The omission of Flash video is a big issue
  • iTunes is dated and it's hard to transfer data without iTunes

Pros:
  • Incredibly sleek look and feel
  • video calling
  • tons of apps optimised for iPad
  • particularly magazines and new media
Cons:
  • Lack of Flash video is galling for a media-centric device

If you already own the original iPad there's little reason to splurge on the latest. While the cameras bring new functionality, the results as far as the rear camera is concerned, are basic.
Pros:
  • More horsepower under the hood
  • slightly lighter
  • looks and feels great
  • battery life is still brilliant
Cons:
  • Rear-facing camera offers basic results

The iPad is so useful in many, many ways.

The iPad is FAB. It's easy to use and entertaining in every aspect you can think of. But, there are problems : it is very expensive, and if you hold it with no support, it kills your arm. But if not, as I said, FAB.

Review: Apple iPad 2

The next iteration of the iPad sees it lose weight, gain performance, add an extra camera and more software functionality through an improved operating system (iOS 4.3). The user interface is the best available currently, and the iPad 2 is a very good system.
