Xiaomi will unveil it’s latest flagship phone on April 19th. There are several leaks that detail the design and features of the new Xiaomi Mi6 phone. Xiaomi Mi6 comes in three variants that all have access to 4 GB of memory. The two more expensive ones employ the latest Snapdragon 835 processor, while the cheapest one sports the less powerful MediaTek Helio X30 processor. The screen measures 5.2-inch diagonally and has a pixel density of 1,920 x 1,080. Leaked images confirm that the screen features curved edges. Another change affecting the design is that Xiaomi has dropped the headphone jack similar to iPhone 7. Mi 6 runs the latest Android Nougat 7.1.1 operating system.

Xiaomi Mi6 Plus

The larger Plus model measures 5.7-inch. It boasts 6 GB of RAM memory and offers two storage configurations: 128 GB and 256 GB. The Plus model is expected to contain the same features as the standard model.

Pricing

There are numerous speculations about the price and whether a price tag of US$300 for the entry-level variant is reasonable. Rather than speculating about the price, one could instead analyse the price trend of the predecessor Xiaomi Mi 5, which currently retails at $417 for the 64 GB model. The best indication, however, is to base a prediction on the leaks on the Chinese microblog site Weibo that claim a price of 2,699 Yuan, which converts to NZ$544 inclusive of GST, for the 64GB storage model. The 128 GB storage model costs 400 Yuan more.
