Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 5 smartphone in India last week. As expected , it is the same Redmi 5 Plus that was introduced in China back in December last year, which is not a huge upgrade except for the full-screen display, camera and the selfie flash.
18:9 Full screen display is good; Good build quality; Good battery life; Decent camera
Same old design; Hybrid Dual SIM might not be preferred by everyone
Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus is a budget smartphone. If on start of sales it costed $180, then now you can buy it for only $160. It is a great deal! To be honest, it is difficult to find a really decent budget phone.
Another good take from budget smartphone extraordinaire, Xiaomi, that elegantly tackles the requirements of a budget smartphone while offering decent specs.

Slight halo effect on Portrait Mode
All said and done, the Redmi Note 5 is still a budget smartphone, just like its predecessors. The smartphone comes with a better, brighter and taller display, along with improved cameras. Xiaomi has also upgraded the base storage and RAM, while keeping the price intact.
Chinese phone maker Xiaomi has plenty of great hits, and its crazy affordable midrange Redmi Note 5 could be one of them. Sporting a 6-inch, 18:9 full-HD+ display and packing a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor, the Redmi Note 5 comes clad in glass and aluminum in blue, black, gold and rose gold colors.
This Chinese-made phone gives you midrange specs for less than $200.
