Poco F2 Pro Review

Whether it warrants its Pro moniker or not, the Poco F2 Pro is a deeply compelling mid-range handset. There aren’t many phones that offer this level of performance at such a competitive price.

Bright, well-calibrated display; Flagship performance; Strong battery life;

Hefty design; Display only 60Hz; Camera results quite mixed;

Xiaomi Poco F2 Pro Smartphone Review - Mid-range Phone with an HDR AMOLED Display and >1000 nits

Still a flagship killer? This year's Poco phone once again offers very competitive hardware specifications, including the very bright, color-accurate AMOLED display, for a cheap price. We measured a brightness of above 1080 nits from the mid-range phone. Our review will show whether the cheap 5G smartphone is worth the asking price of 440 Euros (~$516).

With the Poco F2 Pro, Xiaomi has once again managed to release a well-rounded mid-range smartphone. ...

Poor quality

Main issue was the pop up camera jammed just after 2 months. I use the selfie cam quite often, granted, but isn't that the point of these phones? Otherwise the pictures and videos are great. Phone also gets really hot under use, like browsing on mobile data or especially using GPS. This severely cuts the battery, unable to last the day. Also have problems phone bootup or just unlocking, althought it might just be me. Overall disappointed with the purchase.

Don't trust the spec sheet

If there was ever a lesson in trusting 'on-paper' performance, this phone is it. Now you sort of expect some sort of compromise for its price, but the compromises here are almost deceptive. For starters, the 128GB storage they boast only offers 89GB usable. Some cleanup got it to 94GB but at that point you are taking a risk with the system. Additionally, alot of the space is taken up by bloatware, some of which are literally plain adware, forcing not-so-subtle ads everywhere you go. Oh and some of those ads are baked into the software, meaning you cant get rid of them without endangering the device. The Snapdragon 865 that is amazing on p...view more

Good value. Small issues.

Ads on stock software is absolutely unacceptable, beyond a joke with ads pushed in stock applications. Too much bloatware. Most of this can be worked around with a better launcher, simply hiding all useless pre-installed apps that you cannot uninstall entirely. Phone itself is good, rear camera is pretty decent and overall a snappy experience. Great screen, boost in brightness in direct sunlight is great. Roughly sub 100GB usable with all the pre-installed trash.

ads are so annoying

There are ads baked-in to the phone. That's just a no from me.

Xiaomi Poco F2 Pro Review: 5G for just $500

A $500 the Poco F2 Pro, which has a Snapdragon 865 processor, 5G, 8GB of RAM, and a triple-lens 64-megapixel camera module, is very tempting. But wait, you’ve not heard of Poco? I can’t blame you. The company, which is part of the Xiaomi empire, first hit the headlines with the Pocophone F1 in August 2018, a competent smartphone with great specs and a low price. Poco has released several devices since, but none have come close to replicating the allure of the original — until now. The F2 Pro looks like it has everything we liked about the Pocophone F1. But can it still compete not just with other flagship-killing hardware, but also the new low-cost, desirable smartphones around? The Poco F2 Pro is similar in size to the OnePlus 8 Pro, and has the same aluminum and Gorilla Glass 5 construction, but with a slightly smaller 6.67-inch AMOLED screen on the front. A motorized selfie camera is used to keep the viewing area free from interruption, but this setup means a high overall weight of ...

Competitive $500 price; Top processor and 5G; OLED screen looks excellent; Long battery life; Fun macro camera mode;

Import-only in the U.S.; Camera disappoints; No water resistance;
