Upgraded NAS Drives

I was looking to upgrade from two maxed out 2TB WD Red NAS drives and was looking for a good 6TB replacement. I opted to try the Seagate Ironwolf 6TB as the rest of my external drives are Seagate and have never had any issues. And now I understand why the WD Reds have a slightly higher cost..

Western Digital Red 6TB review

The 6TB Western Digital Red is the first 3.5-inch desktop hard disk to offer home users such an enormous storage capacity in a single disk. The alternatives, HGST's Helium He6 and Seagate Enterprise Capacity 6TB , are both intended for the enterprise market, and cost approaching twice as much as the...

WD Red 6TB NAS Hard Disk Drive WD60EFRX (Batch of 5)

WAY TO GO NEWEGG on the packaging of these hard drives! Each drive came in their own hard drive air bag and box that were air bagged inside another larger box. They arrived in perfect shape ;-) Much better packaging than I have seen in the past. KUDOS NEWEGG!

Large capacity, cool and quiet; No problems or bad sectors when installed in my Synology with any of the 5 drives; All drives passed with flying colors; I bought 5 2TB drives of the WD Red line 3 years ago and all of the drives are still going strong and hope the same for these

None really just wish they carried a 5 year warranty for the price; Not the fastest NAS either but are perfect for backing up my other NAS which has the faster enterprise drives

Excellent drives

After having a number of failures with Seagate drives, we have come to use WD RED's exclusively for our customers in their Drobo B800i and B810i, and other NAS devices. I couldn't tell you how many drives we've purchased from Micro Center but it's been a lot. Not a failure yet *knocks wood*

Big capacity, unsure on relability

Purchased two drives and added to my storage setup. First one has failed within 1 month, with the drive making clicking noises. Drives will fail I do understand that and in my experience WD has been the most reliable, so I'll keep buying them.

Best entry/budget NAS drives

I have 8 of these drives in a RAID 5 configuration for the last two years. I have not had any problems or issues. They are fast, reliable, and quite. In the future I will be buying 8 more for another system.

Western Digital Red WD60EFRX 6TB Hard Drive

While APH Networks is probably not the first -- or even the second, third, or fourth -- website to visit if you are looking for relationship advice, I think we had some great points posted in the opening of my Western Digital Red WD40EFRX 4TB review back in June 2014.
