The hard disk stopped working 25 days after installing it. The technician said that it seems the device had some factory problems. I guess this kind of things don't happens all the time and specially with this recognized brand.

I purchased a couple of these to put in a Drobo NAS box. Plan to order a few more very soon. Very well made and reliable hard drives perfect for using in a NAS box. While I'd love to invest in SSD's eventually, in the meantime, these are the next best thing to use if you want a good combination of...

OOdles of space! quiet and fast. It delivers. Only one caveat. No bundled software like disk utility. No SATA cable. At the price, little conveniences would have been nice and then I would have rated this 5*. I have just installed the drive so my evaluation is very young.

Good Product.

This Hard drive has been fitted to a surveillance system for 7 months and has packed up. I only use 4 cameras on the system thought it would last longer than 7 months . Dissapointed

I would buy another. I would recommend one. I'm not paid anything in any form to give this review. The internet is full of fake reviews from paid writers that probably never even used the product. They also have reviews to slam products of competitors. I know, it's slimy.

Runs cooler in my security system than my old WD drive; Installed, formatted right away, went right back to recording; I will not be able to give an honest review on storage quality for a couple of months; I will return; Same price as my old WD 250gb drive.

very quiet and reliable

I bought this hard drive with a Vantec NST-300SU-BK enclosure ( ) to build an expander for my Shaw Gateway PVR (which only has an eSATA interface), because the old one started freezing and dropping the link regularly and Shaw no longer supports them.

Purchased this for a church security camera system which had a Toshiba HDD crash for no known reason. Searched for a larger HDD with characteristics I needed, like write priority and capability to take the use at high volume times. This was the one. So far it has worked as well as we had hoped.

The move into the 4K resolution over recent months means we're seeing the surveillance industry evolve. Higher resolutions, more cameras and 24/7 recordings mean that the demand for storage is on the way up.
