Western Digital My Passport Essential SE 1TB
I am so disgusted by this drive. I've used it a total of FOUR TIMES to back up data from my laptop. A few days ago, I plugged it in to do my 3-month HD backup, and it rendered my Vista OS completely unresponsive.- NOTHING...okay
- portable? Paper weight?
- Stopped working altogether after FOUR USES! Total crap
- WD seems to have no idea how to fix an apparent inherent flaw in this drive
Worst thing EVER!!!
This is the 3rd hard drive from WD i have had REPLACED...these things quit like no tomorrow. As a university student, many of my much needed files have gone caput bc these things have no clue how to work. Every single one has failed. I will never buy another one again.
nice fit to travel with
just what i needed for back up of multiple pictures. cd's actually degrade over years and this digital capture system will keep my photos crisp. also i place it in a safe or safe place and dont have to worry about my laptop being compremised
Western Digital My Passport Essential 320GB External Drive
Transfer rates stayed the same with the installation of the SmartWare software, though the user experience decreased. If you don't install it, every time you connect the drive the software will mount and ask to be installed. This was extremely annoying.
Western Digital My Passport Essential 500GB review
The My Passport Essential gives you plenty of hard drive space in a compact and lightweight device, making it much more convenient to keep your important information as close as your pocket.
WD My Passport 2TB
It's the almost the same size as a passport and hence the name. Very good for the consumer who needs a lot of portable memory on the go and is willing to pay the somewhat demanding price. It's built very well and the rubber feet will stop any vibrations on any surface.
Western Digital My Passport 2 TB Review
S SDs packed in 2.5-inch USB 3.0 casings are the fastest portable storage devices. But that's only for a handful of those who prefer speed over capacity. To the rest, size matters most! Here, hard drives come into the picture because they offer a strikingly low price-per-GB.

The newly redesigned enclosures surround a 2.5" 15mm Western Digital hard drive that uses four platters to offer capacities up to 2TB, making it the highest capacity drive available in this form factor.- Massive 2TB of storage from a single 2.5-inch hard drive
- USB 3.0 interface for transfer speeds averaging 110MB/s
- Helpful and intuitive supplied software
- Metal-alloy case would have been preferred
