Western Digital My Passport 2TB review
Speed and capacity are the two parameters used to gauge a portal hard drive. In most cases there is a tradeoff wherein either one of these would be weak in the HDD which consumers would need to accept but in case of the Western Digital My Passport 2TB portal HDD, with USB 3.0 connectivity and amp...

Western Digital My Passport Ultra review - good performance at a competitive price
The My Passport Ultra provides good performance at a competitive price The My Passport Ultra isn't designed specifically for the Mac, as some of WD's drives are, but it's a fast, affordable and compact portable hard drive that will make a good companion for your Mac or MacBook.

- light portable USB 3.0 drive
- good value for money
- high performance for file back-ups
Cons:
- no Firewire or Thunderbolt interface
- plastic case isn't very rugged Requirements: Mac with USB 2.0 or 3.0

Very portable
Overall I'm very impressed with this product. It is very small so takes up hardly any space in my camera bag and transfer speeds are good. The bundled software isn't particularly good so I don't use it. The main issue I have with the product is that the casing scratches very easily.
Pros:
- Lightweight
Cons:
- Scratches Easily

Well-designed, capacious, and fast
The new My Passport Pro delivers in all most all categories for a portable storage device: It's capacious, fast, very convenient to use and quite affordable. While it's not the fastest and most compact drive I've seen, the combination of what it has to offer more than makes up for these minor...
Pros:
- The WD My Passport Pro is fast, portable, and has some of the largest storage capacity you can find
- It supports multiple RAID setups, has a well-designed built-in Thunderbolt cable, and is comparatively affordable
Cons:
- The drive doesn't support USB nor does it have an extra Thunderbolt port.

Excellent Backup
The item arrived within 2 days of ordering, and I could track its progress to make sure I was around to receive it. I firstly connected the drive to a USB extension lead so that I could keep it in front of the monitor.

cheaply made. came apart
Really fragile. Had it a year and the seam split and it no longer is able to copy stuff. I never dropped it or treated it roughly at all . Seemed like a good deal but it's cheaply made. Be careful if you have important stuff on it

WD My Passport Edge for Mac
Western Digital offers external desktop drives with Thunderbolt connectors but we're still waiting for Thunderbolt to come to its portable drives. For now you'll have to be satisfied with USB 3.0, which isn't available on all Macs.

Western Digital My Passport 500GB review
Not as sleek as the new Edge series the My Passport (formerly known as My Passport Essential) isn't without considerable appeal. Sure it's a little chunkier than the Verbatim Mobile Hard Drive and the design's quite bland but it's what inside that counts right?
Pros:
- Excellent software
Cons:
- Crummy performance
