At that price, the WD My Passport for Mac 1TB USB3 becomes a product that we highly recommend. It's small in size and pretty zippy in speed. What's not to like!

Western Digital My Passport USB3 2TB review

Hard disk capacities have increased dramatically in the space of a few short years. Western Digital's latest My Passport disk is a great example of this – despite being small enough to slip in a pocket, it has a whopping 2TB capacity that should ensure you'll never need to leave an important file...

Small

This is a very small drive but has all the speed you would expect from a USB drive. The compact size is great for my daughter (college student) in he radio and television courses. It comes with an extra cable, which is very nice. The only thing I would like to see is a carrying case.

Review: My Passport Edge hard drive complements Mac laptops

The My Passport Edge for Mac is the newest member of Western Digital's portable hard drive family. It's not wildly different from previous My Passport models, but the Edge does have USB 3.0 connectivity, and has slimmed down to an ultra-thin 4.40 by 0.43 inch enclosure.
Pros:
  • Pre-formatted for Mac and Time Machine compatible
  • Backwards compatible with USB 2.0
Cons:
  • Single USB 3.0 interface only

quiet but very slow

I purchased this drive to store my home videos, music and everything. I did a test and transferred 50GB data, it took almost AN HOUR! I was hoping 3Gb/second would let me transfer data with much less time than that. The drive its self is very light weight and quite and sleek design.
Pros:
  • Quiet
  • Easy to Use
  • Design
Cons:
  • slow speed
