Right away it's clear to see where the name of the product comes from - it looks like a book! The front of the My Book has two clear rings. The inner ring is lit with a blue LED to show the remaining free space on the drive.

Western Digital My Book Essential Edition 1 TB USB 2.0 External Hard Drive
I bought this and another My Book with the idea that I would be able to use the automatic backup software that was included. The Memeo software that's "included" with this My Book is TRIAL SOFTWARE however and you have to pay another $30 to use it.

Great drive... a little unstable though
It's a great hard drive for the price! Very easy to use, tons of space and sleek design. My only issue is that I'd like a wider base. I keep it next to a laptop that gets moved a lot and I've knocked it over several times.

ITS CRAP bought one to my brother it broke down after 1day the same happened whith western dihital 500GB on 2 of them now i bought a Iomega 1TB works like a charm even thouhg i droped it in the floor 2times was worried that was the end of it but not.

External Hard Drive
This is a great product. Back up your entire computer. Lots of room for music and karaoke files. The BEST I would reccommend it to everyone so they don't lose important photos etc.

Fast and Easy!
This external hard drive works perfectly and is incredibly easy to use! It is by far the best one I've ever run into. If you have Windows or Linux it will be easy as pie to set up, but if you have a Mac, like me, it is not a good product for beginners!
