Happy with this drive

Great compact drive. I have it on the "foot" of my iMac, keep it plugged in all the time, and use it solely as a Time Machine backup drive. I should switch it with my desktop WD drive, because that is the one I'm constantly moving between my iMac and laptop.

WD Elements Portable

Though not the fastest on the market, the WD Elements' large capacity makes it an excellent deal considering its low price.
Pros:
  • The WD Elements Portable drive offers a large amount of storage space for a low cost
  • Its simple design allows it to work well with computers, game consoles and other type of hosts
Cons:
  • You have to pay extra to use its included backup software after the introductory 30-day trial
  • The drive has no security features and carries a short warranty of just one year

Fantastic bit of kit

Fantastic bit of kit. Lightweight, easy to use and powered directly from the USB port so that you don't need any external power supply. The USB 3.0 connection means that data transfer is quick and if like me you want it for holding films and music then you don't get any buffering.
