" WET " had a lot of promise. Whilst its bewildering multiplayer got canned apparently quite late into the day, there is still, at times, a strong single player experience to be had. The story is good, and Rubi is an excellent lead character.

It's Like… …an Americanized version of John Woo's Stranglehold if Chow Yun Fat was a hot white chick overflowing with Tarantino-esque B-movie sensibilities. In this incredibly over the top action fiasco you play Rubi, a sassy pistol toting, sword fighting, hard drinking mercenary who hires herself...
It takes a special kind of badass to wield a dart gun, three firearms, and a Ginzu-sharp katana…while plummeting through the air - parachute-less - from a destroyed jetliner. Wildly implausible? Yes.
+ Moves and controls like butter, despite slo-mo–happy combat, + Lots of cool, Pulp Fiction–esque style; great soundtrack
? Is that sword a carry-on or a check-in
Take that title any way you want… Members of the male species beware, it seems that women have grown an sadistic blood-lust and are determined to show us up on the fields of ‘Murder, Death, Kill'.
Enjoyable fast paced action; Simple combat system never gets old; Fantastic soundtrack
Incredibly short with little replay value; Graphics are somewhat rough around the edges; Levels are extremely linear
Blood. Boobs. Bullets. If any of those words make you giddy with anticipation, then you probably land squarely in the target demographic of Artificial Mind and Movement Those Naughty Takin Kill Bill Volume 3?
The action genre has elements which appeal to all types of gamers. It's where hardcore types go when they want something a bit more relaxed, and it's where casual types go when they want to play something with more depth.
While the action is at times shallow and clunky, WET provides gamers with light popcorn entertainment that's an arguably short, but fun ride.
I bought it because I was curious as to what it is and I really enjoyed it. I just bought it for a friend of mine too.
Ultimately, Wet is a game destined for cult hit status. Taken at face value, it seems like an ugly, clunky playing mess. But when you put some time into it, and put everything into the context of a 70's explotation/grindhouse action movie, everything starts to make sense.
With the subtitle on the cover saying "get ready for monkey business", you just know the developer means, well, business. Wet has finally arrived.
