Vivo X60 Pro review

The X60 Pro is a confident flagship from Vivo that plays to its strengths: a beautiful, lightweight design and strong main camera. You won't get wireless charging or the absolute top-tier chipset, but for many those will be smart sacrifices to make. UK and European pricing remains unknown, so for now this review is unscored.

Exceptionally thin & light; Great main camera; Gimbal-stabilised video;

No wireless charging; No IP rating; Average ultrawide camera;

Vivo X60 Pro Review

There are lingering question marks over its price and availability so I won't be scoring the Vivo X60 Pro yet, but as it stands this is a unique upper-mid-range/entry-flagship phone with a remarkably stable camera, a highly desirable design and solid performance. It isn't the best-specced phone in its class, however, and for all its camera charms it doesn’t take the best photos. As a value proposition, we suspect it’s going to struggle against the altogether more capable OnePlus 9. But for those looking for something a little different in a rather samey field, it’s a sleek and stylish alternative.

Super steady gimbal shots; Sleek design; Good telephoto camera;

Both day and night time shots can look overblown; No wireless charging;

Vivo X60 Pro review

Instead of going after the current crop of megabucks flagships, the X60 Pro is well-placed to shake things up in the mid-tier. It's a great-looking handset with a gimbal-stabilised camera that really helps it stand out from similarly-priced rivals. Prospective buyers should ask themselves how much video they actually shoot on their smartphone, though. It's not so competitive in other areas, and offers little else that you won't find in alternatives like OnePlus, Xiaomi or even Samsung. Given those brands will all be more familiar to UK customers, it makes the X60 Pro that bit harder to recommend, despite being so well-rounded.

Shake-free video recording; Premium build and gorgeous display; Punchy performance;

Camera stills can't quite top premium rivals; Battery life a bit disappointing; Missing features that could make it a flagship-killer;

Great camera and premium phone feel

Upgraded to the X60 Pro for its camera. I do most of contents from phone, so I was looking for a solid performer, and a camera on a phone that does great photo taking and videos too, so I don't always need to use my bulky cameras. This camera phone does just that, image is top quality, smooth videos with the stabiliser is a dream. My friends didn't believe I captured all just by simply point and shoot on my new phone. Give this gem a try.

Vivo X60 Pro review: A new champion?

Although it's a timely launch for Vivo, given Euro 2020 sponsorship, this isn't a device that only sells itself through the company name being splashed around stadium ad boards, its one that sells itself on sheer ability. The gimabl stabilisation, in particular, is untouchable. Back of the net!

Gimbal stabilisation in video shooting is unrivalled; Plenty of power and decent fast-refresh display; Tidy design (and camera bump less intrusive than Pro Plus model); Decent main camera; Software is generally like stock Android;

Notifications sometimes (but rarely) fail to display properly; Specific apps may require background software tinkering; No waterproofing; No wireless charging; Wide-angle camera should be better;

Vivo X60 Pro review

With a good-looking design, well-rounded camera array and slick user interface, the Vivo X60 Pro is a solid jack-of-all-trades Android phone. However, it launched at the same price as some higher-spec contemporaries, making it harder to recommend.

Smooth UI experience; Useful selection of cameras; Appealing design;

Price is too high; Font bugs; Weaker specs than rivals
