My friend had never seen a vitamix in operation and when it blended a pineapple core and all to a creamy consistency, she exclaimed, "this blender is a lunatic!" And we all burst out laughing, so the name has stuck.

I've had a variety of blenders before but none of them compare to this Vitamix. The blending makes the food taste velvety smooth. I haven't yet tried all the functions: making flour, making peanut butter, etc. - but of what I have tried I have been extremely impressed. It is also extremely fast.

I love my Vita mix. It would be nice to have a cover for it to keep the dust off, but it really doesn't have a chance to get dusty as I use it every day. Christmas cookies this year were all Vita Mix!! So yummy and easy. My husband and I are on to making soups, oh so good!!

I have been wanting one of these blenders for years, My mom got me one for my birthday its great, we make soup, drinks, dressing, peanut butter, so many things. it does take some getting used too, and is a learning experience.
