ViewSonic VX2250wm review

The sub-£150 LCD monitors sector has been receiving plenty of new blood in recent months. The 21.5in ViewSonic VX2250wm takes most of the best bits from what's already there, and melds them into a quietly impressive little screen.

ViewSonic VX2250wm-LED

Good image quality, but the design isn't particularly attractive and it costs a little more than the competition.

ViewSonic VX2250wm-LED review

At the risk of wheeling out a tired cliché, it really is a great time to buy a new monitor at the moment. Most manufacturers have launched their LED-backlit models and - as ever - are all competing intensely on price.

It's a tough call and may depend on your budget, expectations and desires. Without Google's official mobile services, it has an uphill battle ahead of it.
Pros:
  • One of the best priced 10"tablets on the market
Cons:
  • Android doesn't adapt well to the larger screen and there have been a lot of complaints about apps not working as they should

Not bad

I picked this up at a pawn shop for $95. I highly recommend it if you can pick it up on sale and you're looking for a deal. For $160 (current Newegg price after discount) I would probably go with something else.
Pros:
  • Great colors, crisp, thin
  • Very bright for sunny rooms
  • Nice and straight forward OSD
Cons:
  • I know not to expect much from built-in speakers but it's like they actually took the speakers out of a PSP and built them into the back of the monitor facing straight backwards
  • They're beyond horrible
  • The dynamic contrast isn't that great.

ViewSonic VX2250wm LED monitor

A 22in LED display that is claimed to "save on your energy bill," the ViewSonic VX2250 LCD monitor has a relatively low price tag. A Full HD resolution, its LED backlighting and decent image quality are impressive, but the lack of an HDMI input may be a deal breaker.
Pros:
  • Attractive design
  • good image quality
  • intuitive on-screen display
  • decent value
Cons:
  • No HDMI port
  • limited stand adjustability
  • poor vertical viewing angles
