Neat little units with plenty enough features for kids to have fun. They are toys - the belt clip is pretty insubstantial - but I get the impression they will last a good while. The built-in micro USB charging port is a good feature (rechargeable batteries not included) as is the small LED torch light.

I bought these a few weeks ago for the kids (age 3 & 6)....they love using them around the house and the garden! Once you set the channel and what "zone code" you want, it's pretty much set and forget. I key lock the kid's radios so they don't accidentally change channels. Also, go out and buy the 12 AAA re-chargeable batteries....it'll be worth it in the long run. The units come with a micro USB to standard USB cable, so just charge it from your PC USB ports or use an old phone charger that has a USB plug on it (5v DC). Pretty easy and the batteries last a few days before the next charge.

When my 10 year old daughter bought toy walkie talkies she was so disappointed that they didn't work as expected. I searched for a more practical solution and came across the Uniden UH45 four pack. Now my daughter can talk to her two sisters, with me listening in, from quite a distance. The real benefit is being able to talk to all three of my kids while riding our bikes or playing in the park, no more yelling at the top of you voice! The fact that they are different colors allows each child to have their own radio and look after it themselves. The ability to set individual call alerts give each child an identifier which my kids use before they start talking. The compact size means they can keep it in their pocket or clip it to their bike. Managing the batteries is simple too, just install rechargeable AAAs and simply plug in after use.

I bought these for school so we can use them on our stop drop go area. They are compact and so easy to use

They are tough enough, work for a decent range and the kids love them.

I bought this as a Christmas present for my two 6yr old daughters, but I think I love it even more than they do! They are heaps of fun for four people so a great present that they can use with their friends. Technically they work very well and are fun to use when in separate cars, or on walks, or camping.
