Looks and sounds brilliant and looks right at home with our modern furniture. Turns up loud with out distorting and the bass is good (better than expected) put it in front of a wall when outside in the garden it sounds great. I bought this to mainly have in the garden and take to work with me.

UE's newest addition to the BOOM line-up is nothing less of a stellar performing portable speaker. This is the first Bluetooth portable speaker that can effectively double up as a compact in-door and out-door speaker.

Pricey at £299; Not as portable as the original

Now, when it comes to the BOOM vs the MEGABOOM I have to be honest and say I'm still a proponent of the original. And only because it's more portable and practical to carry, especially if you're traveling long distances or backpacking.

UE's Megaboom is designed so it can be used horizontally or vertically, although it can roll a bit when used horizontally. With speaker drivers pointing in multiple directions, the Megaboom fills a room with sound rather than blast sound in one direction.

Last week I wrote on the announcement of UE MEGABOOM (US$299.99) Bluetooth speaker, the new big brother to the UE BOOM ($199.99) and the UE MINIBOOM ($99.99) . I reviewed the UE BOOM last year and was thrilled with its performance as a portable, durable and great sounding wireless speaker.

A couple of months ago, I was able to review the UE Boom 2 Bluetooth speaker . I found that it has wonderful audio quality but lacks bass and has a handful of relatively minor issues with the app. This time, I've been given the opportunity to review the UE Megaboom.

The UE Boom 2 is a tour de force in the Bluetooth speaker scene. First off, it's one helluva good-looking device. Then, it keeps impressing with class-leading performance, waterproofing, and a unique set of features allowed by its free companion app.
