Ultimate Ears UE Megaboom

Ultimate Ears' UE Boom was an excellent $200 Bluetooth speaker , and even two years after its release, it's still a solid choice if you want a rugged, portable way to share your music wirelessly. Now Ultimate Ears offers a bigger version of the Boom.

Powerful for its size; Solid audio quality across most of the range

Struggles with deep sub-bass

UE Megaboom hits CES 2015: Top indoor/outdoor portable Bluetooth speaker gets supersized (review)

What does UE do for encore after releasing one of the best portable Bluetooth speakers of the last two years? Go bigger, of course, with a larger model appropriately called the UE Megaboom.

The larger UE Megaboom improves on the already impressive sound quality of the Boom, with even louder sound and fuller bass; It's also waterproof, has upgraded Bluetooth range (and Bluetooth Smart) and excellent battery life

A bit pricey at $300; no carrying case included

Ultimate Ears UE Megaboom Review

Portable speakers let us enjoy our music wirelessly at home and on the go. And with the smaller, more powerful and longer lasting models offered recently, it's no wonder everyone wants one.

UE Megaboom Bluetooth speaker review

The UE Megaboom looks to be Logitech's way of starting the year with a bang, as its latest speaker is a supersized version of the already-loud original UE Boom , yet promises to be even beefier. At £249.99 it's a fair bit pricier too - and is bigger always better? We fired one up to find out.

Good big brother to the original UE Boom

I've owned the original UE Boom for a while now and love it. Still, I wanted a bit more bottom end when using the speaker in larger spaces and this speaker delivers just that--even without boosting the bass in the EQ. Great sound, great value!

Great sound Strong bass Battery lasts a long time Decent app

Finally found a speaker worth the money.

I've had a non-wireless speaker dock for a while and love the sound it provides. I've been looking for something comparable that is wireless and doesn't use a power cord. UE Megaboom is perfect. It sounds great, can be controlled from iPhone, and lasts a long time on battery power.

Ultimate Ears UE Megaboom review: Boom and bass

When we reviewed the original UE Boom , we thought it was the best portable Bluetooth audio speaker since sliced bread. But for when you want a thicker slice, with a greater dollop of bass spread, there's the UE Megaboom. Bigger scale, bigger sound, but a bigger price to boot.

Great sound with ample bass; loud volume; rugged build and waterproof design; decent battery life

Expensive; sound less omni-directional than original UE Boom

The UE Megaboom improves on the original in almost every way but at the sacrifice of portability and price. It can still be thrown into a big bag, and it's well worth a look if you're after a booming speaker with top notch sound, a focus on bass and a huge battery life - it can easily power any of...

The original UE Boom was one of the most impressive Bluetooth speakers we've seen, combining portability with huge sound, and now its bigger brother, the Megaboom, has landed; It's even louder but is almost twice the size.

Logitech hasn't strayed too far away from a winning formula with its latest Megaboom, and there's not too much to complain about; The price tag is our biggest complaint though, and at £249.99, the Megaboom towers over many of its peers for cost alone, not least its £170 sibling.
