Ordered this a few days ago thinking that it was the Limited Edition version of the game with the download of Twisted Metal Black like the picture says. Yeah definitely was not what was shown in the picture.
It is a reboot of the original, and a good one at that. All those destruction and explosions look so good with PS3 graphics. I never really care much about the story, although I find it strange that you can choose different vehicles for one character. But overall it's still a good game.
It's been a decade since we've had a new Twisted Metal game, so chances are most players coming into this reboot will be rusty if not altogether new to the series. As such, Twisted Metal does little to lull debutants to its peculiar brand of vehicular combat, but those who persist through its...
Balanced multiplayer; Very deep combat; Awesome bosses; Feels unlike anything else out there today
Clumsy AI; Not enough multiplayer modes
With online multiplayer that few will find truly compelling in the modern marketplace, the genuinely well-realised campaign mode forms the most interesting part of this game but is too short-lived to justify the £40 price tag.

The Twisted Metal series is one that's been a staple of the PlayStation since the original console. It was only a matter of time before it finally put in an appearance on PS3 and, while at it's core it remains a fun and chaotic destruction fest, the new things that this incarnation tries to do show...
The story of Twisted Metal is a lot like the game itself. A handful of psychopaths make a deal with devilish corporate overlord (and Professor Snape lookalike) Calypso to grant them their deepest wish if they win his gruesome tournament.
