One Minute Review: Transcend SSD370S 1TB

SSD prices are diving, and we're all too glad to welcome that. This 1TB Transcend SSD370S1TB can be had for very close to $500. This is notable because now with M.2 and PCIe SSDs entering the market, you can no longer pack in several SATA SSDs or HDDs in a system equipped with one or two PCIe SSDs,...

Transcend's SSD370 solid-state drive reviewed

If you've made it this far, we have a treat for you. If you skipped straight to the end, though, we're validating your poor choices and short attention span. Either way, we're sure you'll be gratified by the return of our overall performance graph and value scatter plots.

Transcend's SSD370S is a better-than-average SSD thanks to a deep bundle and features, but its price and warranty, relative to competitors such as Samsung, suppress its value proposition.

Available in six capacities; Includes 3.5-inch desktop bay adapter; Several high-end features; including nicely unified software suite

Three-year warranty is less than what competing drives offer; So-so write speeds; given the price; Unclear endurance rating

Transcend SSD370S 512GB SSD

As more products come to market with three-bit-per-cell NAND, drives like Transcend's SSD370S with MLC become increasingly attractive. Micron, SK hynix and Toshiba all failed to make planar TLC as fast as Samsung's existing V-NAND flash.

The Transcend SSD370S features MLC flash and ships with management software; Performance is mainstream, and when you can find it on sale, it does compete with entry-level products on price

Transcend has failed to aggressively and continuously keep the SSD370 512GB price low enough to compete with other products that deliver better value; Random performance is often lower than on competing products in this class of SSDs

Transcend SSD370S 512GB SSD Review

Transcend SSD370S 512GB SSD retails at RM 699, this model is the one with aluminum case. There's a model that's without the ‘S' on the product name that retails less and uses plastic instead of aluminum. Transcends SSD comes with 3-years warranty.

The Transcend SSD370S is a pretty good, affordable SSD to consider. It comes with a number of extras, plus the fact that it comes with quite a number of goodies, and is sturdy to boot.

Transcend SSD370S MLC SSD Review

Transcend has an interesting drive in the SSD370S. Though it has been on the market for two years, it means it is using older, higher endurance NAND. These offer endurance ratings not even the newest 3D MLC NAND can quite hope to match.

Rapid

Great value for money. The ssd is very quick and one of the best I've used. Quality is very good and the included bracket is very handy. Would highly recommend if your looking for a performance upgrade but don't need tons of space.
