Absolutely Grade A (even today), but be ready...

However, the game overall is incredible. I have been a diehard fan of the Sim City series since its days on the SNES. Sim City 3000 wasn't all that great, so this was a huge breath of fresh air for the series as far as graphics and gameplay.

I bought this game in 2004 for some high price thinking "I have always loved Sim City and maybe this is good." Boy was I surprised; first off, even now here in 2009, the graphics are not hugely dated, and the game looks amazing at high quality settings.

For those of you who have never played a Sim City game, I really recommend you go into buying this knowing what your getting yourself in to; The game has an EXTREME learning curve if you have never played a Sim City game before.

SimCity 4

Let me make a couple of admissions right off the bat. The last SimCity game I played was the original SimCity published way back in 1989. So if you're looking for how SimCity 4 differs from SimCity 3 or SimCity 2000 , I have no idea.

SimCity 4

Build a city and make sure the inhabitants like living there and you don't go bankrupt. That's the short and simple but also very addictive formula of SimCity which has now reached version 4.

SimCity 4

After sitting behind the mayor's desk for a few days, I slowly began to realize why his/her duties are so draining and stressful. A good mayor relies on a number of qualities: his astuteness, political and economic sense, business skills, and naturally good planning (none of which I possess by the...

The improved interface, which makes things radically easier; The enhanced visuals - the developers strove to incorporate an amazing amount of details in the districts of your very own metropolis; Visually, the new engine takes the franchise to a new level; Excellent sounds.

Zooming in and out may take a long time to load because the screen is overburdened with stuff like dense traffic; passersby; and other activities in the city

SimCity 4

SimCity 4 is already the fourth installment of one of the most addictive games and challenging games in history. Yeah, It's really hard to believe that many years have passed since the original SimCity (1989?) was first released.

Maxis and EA Games have released Sim City 4, the updated version of its hugely successful Sim City series. I will now go over the basics of Sim City game play just in case you've been in a cave the last decade or so. In Sim City 4 you are the mayor/city planner.

I've played Simcity ever since the Amiga days when you had blocks of zones on a top down view with cars being depicted by black blocks driving through the streets. The Simcity series has come a long way since then and Maxis's latest effort, , is a gorgeous display of cityscape with good gameplay in...
