I've played Simcity ever since the Amiga days when you had blocks of zones on a top down view with cars being depicted by black blocks driving through the streets. The Simcity series has come a long way since then and Maxis's latest effort, , is a gorgeous display of cityscape with good gameplay in...

Sim City 4

New gameplay or rewashed concepts, polished graphics or over-rated hype? I'll be telling you about all that and more, right from Maxis's latest installment in the ever popular SimCity franchise.

"The best SimCity yet."

The SimCity series, like Civilisation, is one of those few series of games which can claim to be truly great. For those of you who aren't familiar with the genre, in SimCity you become the (unelected) Mayor of a city, and must build roads, schools, hospitals, police stations, tourist traps,...

Amazing detail; endless possibilities; addictive; brilliant

Can at times be very hard; Not for the gamer who wants action

SimCity 4 - the best SimCity game ever

I own this game since from August 2004 and when I played it, I totally loved it. I mean, this game has much more opportunities and control for me to take the power with, comparing with the SimCity 2000.

Sim City 4 Review

This is a good thing - we couldn't have asked for much more than has been delivered, and I doubt Maxis could have done much more with a formula that they've improved upon time and again.

Rome wasn’t built in a day. Review

Well, their lazy Roman asses obviously didn't have Sim City 4 . Oh wait. Come to think of it, we're the lazy ones, sitting on our butts in front of our computers. The Romans were the ones who worked really hard building all those aqueducts.

Classic city building fun; More realistic economic model; Incremental tax brackets; Intricate detail; Good interface

Chugs when there's too much going on; Still some issues and bugs; Multiplayer; where art thou

SimCity 4

Let me make a couple of admissions right off the bat. The last SimCity game I played was the original SimCity published way back in 1989. So if you're looking for how SimCity 4 differs from SimCity 3 or SimCity 2000 , I have no idea.

Good for those strategists out there, not so good for casual gamers.

Sim City 4 was the obvious choice for a seasoned Sim City 2000 player, when it turned up on the Mac. Thinking this I bought it at the reasonable (then) price of £25.00. General Gameplay Sim City is like most simulation games: you get to sit at the controls and make things happen, while the simulated...

Overkill

A bit too cartoonish for my taste. It is mostly what you expect, you build a city and watch it suffer (hopefully) or prosper. Like the other games in the series. The innovation this time around where you can take control of firetrucks to rescue cats from trees and other miniquests spoil the game for...
