jaw dropping

I Found my self having to close my mouth at moments. The intensity is non stop from start to finish. I love this game and have dropped almost 20 hrs running around killing things truly amazing.

Let me start by saying that I am a completionist; I try to explore entire maps and stories besides just the run of the mill speed run like some folks on here. I will admit that I was excited to play this game beforehand as I personally love the survival genre and I was really into Resident Evil 4.

Game Review: The Evil Within

You play as Detective Sebastian Castellanos and when he is called to a gruesome homicide with his partner Joseph Oda and Detective upstart Julie Kidman, it soon becomes apparent that this is no mere gruesome murder crime scene.

This is survival horror; Intriguing world; superb enemy design; Sinister locations & contraptions; Lengthy & fulfilling campaign that encourages replay

Some minor framerate issues; At times it feels a little too similar to Resident Evil 4

The Evil Within Review

Superb gameplay, a breakneck pace and terrifying enemies makes The Evil Within a wonderful survival horror experience.

The Evil Within Review

A name particularly resonant in the annals of survival horror in video games is that of Resident Evil. Up until it took a curious and unloved turn for the worse over the last console generation, the series synonymous with the genre, almost epitomising it.

Rewarding difficulty; Twisted psychological elements; Some excellent; haunting motifs

Sometimes disjointed; RB-operated sneak is fiddly and unreliable; Very linear

The Evil Without!

Pretty predictable game. Overall effects are ok. I gave it 4 stars because the zombies are real fast and weapons are really hard to come by making the game pretty hard.

Is it me or is this game too difficult? I've set it on the lowest difficulty setting, but I've been stuck at one point in the game, for too long. It may be me, probably is, but I know one thing, it has spoiled my enjoyment of it, and I'm going to get rid of it.

great campaign

This game is awesome. Finally a game that actually gives you shivers. Took a bit to get over the initial newbie curve but now I'm hooked. Not sure on replay value after completing the story.

Horror games are a bit like comedy games in that you rarely see one done right. Horror games are difficult because they have to create and then build that level of tension that either ends in relief or moments of sheer terror.
