"just starting"

from the little i've played so far, this is for people like me, who like a set path(can't stand free roaming), you just have to get around or take out the obstacles in your way, only two levels in and so far find it more intense than scary, would have given it 4 stars, but the cap it came with is...

jaw dropping

I Found my self having to close my mouth at moments. The intensity is non stop from start to finish. I love this game and have dropped almost 20 hrs running around killing things truly amazing.

"So Incredibly Disappointed"

Trailer Oh bliss, bliss and heaven... Oh, it was gorgeousness and gorgeousity made flesh... that Clockwork line summed up my feelings perfectly upon sitting in my cinema seat, scarfing down my salt popcorn and slurping on an ice blast, letting the trailer sink into me glazzies.

The Evil Within

The Evil Within (Pyscho Break in Japan) takes the survival horror genre into a whole new gruesome level with a third person adventure requiring you to scavenge for suppliers and pick your fights carefully to survive. Players step into the game world as Sebastian Castellanos a veteran detective ...

Guaranteed to scare – Maintains intensity throughout

Some clunky elements – Slow pacing scatters story elements

The Evil Within

Despite letting some of its most compelling aspects die off, The Evil Within is still worth a shot for bringing some unique ideas in the first place, and giving us a new way to think about survival horror.

A compelling and visually powerful world; Unravels an engaging mystery; Offers a new take on the survival horror genre

Forced and sometimes finicky combat; Enemies and sequences that feel like filler; Dropped plots

Xbox One Review - 'The Evil Within'

Director Shinji Mikami's fingerprints are all over The Evil Within . That's even more evident if you're familiar with his past work, particularly Resident Evil 4 . Even with Mikami directing, The Evil Within leaves a lot to be desired, although it also had a lot of elements that I greatly enjoyed.

The Evil Within Review

The Evil Within doesn't quite live up to its forebears, but that's fine, it does stand on its own and it's worth grabbing if you're a fan of the genre.

Game Review: The Evil Within

You play as Detective Sebastian Castellanos and when he is called to a gruesome homicide with his partner Joseph Oda and Detective upstart Julie Kidman, it soon becomes apparent that this is no mere gruesome murder crime scene.

This is survival horror; Intriguing world; superb enemy design; Sinister locations & contraptions; Lengthy & fulfilling campaign that encourages replay

Some minor framerate issues; At times it feels a little too similar to Resident Evil 4

The Evil Within (Xbox One) Review

The Evil Within is an absolute masterpiece . It combines near-perfect challenge, good (albeit a bit dull) characters, a pretty fantastic story (especially when you search for, and read the collectables), awe-inspiring terror and horrific beasts, and grueling sounds and music, to create a masterpiece...
