Flawed but worth it.

First few hours are utter guff - disjointed and disappointing. But don't give up- gets so much better as you carry on. It's not perfect, can be clunky and harsh but always playable. As resident evil a game could get without being titled resident evil. Recommended.

super meh

this game feels like a smorgasbord of ideas just thrown together in one game. the story sucked. the gameplay was relatively fun but also boring after a while, nothing but enemies to kill, and booby traps to avoid, and sometimes enemies to run from while trying to avoid traps.

The Evil Within: The Consequence (PlayStation 4) Review

The first DLC ended with Juli discovering the truth behind Ruvik's escape plan. Of course, those who have finished the original game already knew much of what was revealed, but seeing it from Juli's point of view, uncovering the truth behind her actions, her motivations and her shadowy overlords...

Horrific!!

I finally got my ps4 last week and made the mistake of putting this game in first. After realizing that I couldn't get rid of those black bars and poor graphics, I quit playing it after 15 minutes and moved on to Far Cry 4.

Bought it on sale

Humongous black bars; underwhelming graphics; first game I popped into my new ps4 unfortunately

The Evil Within Review

WARNING If you have photosensitivity this game is not for you. If your body can handle the lighting in this game this is a great horror survival story to play. This is a single player game only. You are a detective who is investigating a asylum.

Great horror survival; New difficulty

no multiplayer ;  Not worth 60

The evil within PS4

Excellent service from tesco in ordering and delivery. Unfortunately the game did not live up to expectations and felt very disjointed at times. I did finish the game but it was more of a chore that enjoyment. The big black bars at the bottom and top of the screen didn't help things either.

The Evil Within was a pretty easy sell for me. Shinji Mikami returns to the genre that he created with Resident Evil and later improved in Resident Evil 4. With his team at Tango Gameworks, Mikami has the ability to create games without the management at Capcom breathing down his neck, meaning The...

The Evil Within: The Consequence Review

The Evil Within: The Consequence is a continuation of Juli Kidman's narrative in The Assignment . She's begun to unravel the truth behind STEM and the players behind it. In The Consequence things come full circle as closure is brought to the nightmarish campaigns of Juli Kidman and Sebastian...

Story is neatly concluded; Memorable final section; Tension-inducing delivery

A large dose of re-used assets; Tags

The Evil Within review – old-fashioned horror

The creator of Resident Evil returns to the world of survival horror, with a mix of third person action and Silent Hill style terror.

The combat and stealth work well, especially when combined with the more open world levels; Plenty of tension and some inventive enemies and boss encounters

Very few new ideas and most of the old ones worked better in their original form; Low frame rate, lots of bugs, and hugely unhelpful camera; Awful storytelling and not thats scary

The Evil Within: The Consequence PS4 Review

The Evil Within's first slice of blood-drenched DLC, The Assignment, was a somewhat surprising success. After all, the story-based expansion's emphasis on stealth over the main campaign's visceral gunplay didn't exactly look great on paper, but its execution was hard to deny as anything other than...
