"One of the best horror games!!"

Just finished the game and loved it! If your a fan of the first you have to play this. The story and open world game play is excellent. A+

The Evil Within 2 review – survival horror's last stand

The creator of Resident Evil returns with a new survival horror whose influences range from The Last Of Us to Inception.

A few successful set pieces; and the open world survival element is a (mostly) welcome addition to the formula

Unrefined mechanics result in only passable combat and sub-par stealth; Weak graphics and camera; Poor pacing, awful storytelling, and a lack of scares

The Evil Within 2 Review – Not What You Were Expecting

The controls in The Evil Within 2 are less cumbersome this time around, with Sebastian taking up less of the screen in order to place a focus upon the action. While the original game kept the camera close to his back in order to limit the player's vision and emphasize its survival horror thrills,...

Excellent and inventive environments; Tighter controls benefit the more action-oriented gameplay; A silly but engaging plot; ...but when it does; it really gets going

Open world feels tacked on, Takes a while to pick up steam; ...but when it does, it really gets going

The Evil Within 2 review

Resident Evil 4 meets the Truman Show in an entertaining but unremarkable follow-up, held back by tepid stealth and warmed-over scares.

The Evil Within 2 (PlayStation 4) Review

The real issue with The Evil Within 2 is that it has tried to marry too many foreign gameplay elements to the genre, whilst not addressing a lot of technical annoyances that, if remedied, would have provided enough refreshment to the third-person horror experience alone.

The Evil Within 2: "It'll make the hairs on your neck prickle right up"

Though it doesn't outdo its predecessor, The Evil Within 2 delivers another fun, challenging, tense horror headtrip that should delight fans of the first game.

Forceful combat fuels your survival; Skin-crawling creepiness provides some great horror; Endearingly goofy dialogue

New visual style lacks the first game's panache; Depending on your outlook; the story could be more sappy than stirring; Minimal enemy variety
