The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

What the hell have I gotten myself into? First I got involved with some rebellion, and that led me to the headsman's block, and then there was a dragon, and weird voices, and...

The enitirely optional thieves' guild sub-quest alone lasts longer and offers more drama and variety than most singleplayer games released this year. And that's long before you factor in similar quest-lines for The Dark Brotherhood, the College of Mages, The Companions or the major, dragon-centric...

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition (for PC)

Skyrim Special Edition is basically the original Skyrim with a fresh coat of paint. If you already own the first release game, there isn't much incentive to make the jump, because in all likelihood you have already modified the original game to run as well, or better, than this game.

Offers dozens of hours of open-world adventuring; Includes previously released DLC; Boasts improved stability and subtle graphics improvements; Satisfying RPG development systems; Lore-heavy universe is immersive and fascinating

Too much handholding; Skyrim Special Edition doesn't offer anything PC players didn't already have via the modding community; 64-bit support limits mod accessibility, crippling the greatest appeal for playing Skyrim on PC

Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim

A game like Skyrim poses a serious question to how game reviewers do their job. In general, we follow a pretty rigid schedule; start game, play game, finish game, write about game. But what happens when a game never ends?

This game is fun, and looks awesome

I've seen a lot of complaints, but I think they're nuts. This is a really cool game. I've never encountered Steam before, and I was a little uncomfortable having to deal with another entity, but I discovered it's hassle free.

It's similar to Oblivion, but they took out some of the annoying stuff, and made the game more fun to play; The graphics are stunning; It's wide open for new adventures; Have fun

It won't load itself into the drive; I had to actually do the work of taking it out of it's box, and putting it in the drive myself; I tried to say, "Hello computer," to the mouse a couple of times, but in the end, I had to physically push the power button; (Star Trek sarcasm

GOTY 2011 *minor spoiler*

This game is amazing. Even though it was released at the same time as other AAA+ titles I cant imagine this not getting GOTY. The graphics leave something to be desired compared to BF3, but it doesn't look bad and it more then makes up for that shortcoming by the expansive open-ended world where you...

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Wonder comes in many forms in Skyrim, and Bethesda shows us this wonder in many places and in many ways in one of their most enjoyable games yet. Wonder has always been at the heart of The Elder Scrolls. The wonder of discovering what sits on a mountain's peak.

PROS: Mayhem and wonder can lurk behind every bend, every hill, and every mountain; main quest line is an improvement from Oblivion; dual-wielding and Shouts make combat more fun; enchanting, making potions, and crafting weapons is easy, and for some, likely quite enjoyable

CONS: Technical issues could ruin moments for some players; it's too easy to go into "sneak" mode when backing up with the control stick

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- Dragonborn Video Review

Dragonborn – the second major expansion pack for the sublime Skyrim – takes many cues from Morrowind, the beloved third game in the Elder Scrolls role-playing series.

Time for the first review of 2012 and what a way to start it with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Ever since it was announced this game has had so much pressure to come out on top. Being the sequel to the amazing The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, which is still in itself a brilliant game – despite being...
