Game Review: The Crew [PC/PS4/Xbox360/XboxOne]

After some public launch hiccups for the latest addition to Ubisoft's super-popular stealth franchise, many were calling for the company to visit Madam Guillotine for its poor handling of such a big launch.

Massive game; +Arcade Fun; +Plenty to explore; +Good varied soundtrack

Dire story -Cluttered UI; -Without friends could get old quick

The Crew

Take away its vast environment and The Crew is decidedly mediocre. But the enjoyable story and great sense of actually driving, whether alone or solo, means there's plenty of fun to be had all the same.

Absolutely massive game world; rich with variety and things to do; Always the option to play solo or in co-op; Lovely sensation of being on the open road; especially at night

No offline play, which means you'll get booted for dropouts, America's city streets are practically empty; Where are the pedestrians, GTA 5 does pretty much everything better, plus much, much more

Ubisoft's rather ambitious, always online racing project has finally been released after a fair few delays. There were concerns leading up to its release with some less than impressive footage.

Amazing Map of the US l Lots of missions and sidemissions l Co-op everything and anything

AI feels cheap l Average racing mechanics l Graphics are dull and boring l Lots of texture pop up l Lacks depth in variation

The Crew Review

deserves credit for the frankly staggering size of its open world, and the fact that it's absolutely filled to the brim with racing, challenges, a fat multiplayer offering, and exploration potential.

Remarkably immense; So much racing content

Brazen; catch-up AI; Often underwhelming looks; Stingy economy

The Crew is a decent racing game that's weighed down by its constantly online mechanics. The missions and challenges are nice, but if you don't have friends, you'll be hard pressed to find them in the game.

Huge world; Plenty of challenges; Lots of content to chew through

Online errors; Lackluster story; Unimpressive visuals; Repetitive soundtrack; Unpopulated world

The Crew

The Crew is a video game with one foot in the past, and one foot in the future. Some of the technological achievements in this next gen video game are very impressive. Like mapping of certain cities. Getting to go to certain areas in the United States.

The Crew Review – PlayStation 4

Open-world racing games are by no means new to the console gaming scene. Ubisoft Reflections introduced gamers to the open-world racing game with their classic Driver series, but it was really the GTA- spinoff Midnight Club franchise that gave gamers the thrilling sense of speed in an free-roam...

The Crew

Ubisoft has received some criticism this year for some of its most hyped games that included Watch Dogs , Assassin's Creed Rogue and Assassin's Creed Unity. While many diehard fans may have loved the new additions, many gamers found them to perform under the high standards that were set, and thus a...

The Crew

'The Crew' is an ambitious racer set in an open world model of the United States. The world is not to scale, of course - the distance from Detroit to St. Louis is about fifteen miles, for instance. It is an online, persistent world that's not quite an MMO.

Not even close

I would not give this one star. The only thing that relates is the cover on the case. One bad police chase and no options.
