Nice Macro but old model
I bought this lens in order to start exploring macro photography, after reading reviews in Camera Shopper, which were very favourable. On going onto the Wex website, I filtered for Tamron lenses and Prime Macro, and turned up this lens, which is model 272EE, and doesn't have Optical Stabilization...- Good close-ups
- Blurry Focus
- No Optical Stabilization
- Slow Focus
Sharpness, good bokeh, poor build quality, a ridiculous hassle to register for warranty.
This lens takes extremely sharp images and does what it is made to do. However the build quality of the lens is substandard compared to a consumer grade Nikon lens. The warranty process for their 6 year warranty is ridiculous.
Well, this was my first Macro lense. To say about this lens, it is stunning sharp. I had taken many nice shots with this lense. I also should admit, it is an excellent portrait lense, can produce images on par with any 'L' series lense of Canon. Some of them are herehttp://www.foto.rajkumar.infoWorth...
- | Stunnning sharp | A good Portrait lense
- | Slow AF | AF Hunts a lot | Growing barrel
Tamron SP AF 90mm f/2.8 Di Macro
A telephoto macro lens let you shoot frame-filling shots of small things without having to get too close. Here, we test a classic optic.- Excellent resolution
- Good build
- Excellent value for money
- Reduction in contrast at f/32
Tamron SP AF 90mm f/2.8 Di Macro Review
As ‘s has a focal length of 90mm rather than 100mm or 105mm, the lens has to be slightly closer than would otherwise be the case to record a true macro ( ) image. That said, Tamron also offers a 180mm macro for times where a greater camera-to-subject distance is more appropriate.- Great value for money
- Wide-open non-macro MTF is poor
Tamron SP AF 90mm f/2.8 Di Macro Review
As Tamron's macro has a focal length of 90mm rather than 100mm or 105mm, the lens has to be slightly closer than would otherwise be the case to record a true macro (1:1) image.- Great value for money
- Wide-open non-macro MTF is poor
Tamron AF 90mm f/2.8 SP Di macro (Nikon mount) - Review / Lab Test Report
The Tamron AF 90mm f/2.8 SP Di is a superb lens without any significant flaws and it's easily as good as the corresponding (classic) Micro-Nikkor - the resolution figures are extremely high, vignetting is marginal, CAs are low and distortions are non-existent.
Tamron SP AF 90mm f/2.8 Di Macro 1:1 Lens
Although Tamron has been producing 90mm macro lenses since the late 1970s, the latest SP AF90mm f/2.8 Di Macro 1:1 lens is the first with Tamron's latest Di (Digitally Integrated Design) technology, which matches the performance characteristics of current DSLR cameras.
Nice affordable lens for macro work
Lens seems to be built very well and the shots that I have taken with it so far are crisp and clear. Compared to my other lenses (Tamron 18-270 and Canon 50mm 1.8), picture quality is very good.- Consistent Output
- Lightweight
- Strong Construction
- Lens Creep
- Loud auto-focus
I recommend this product!
Overall a great lens for macro photography. Works absolutely fine with my Nikon D5100. I have noticed slow auto-focus and it also generates noise while focusing on the subject.
