Love this lens, totally worth it!
I am just a photo newbie but I love this lens! Super easy to use and takes great shots. I use it for pictures of my family, clients and pets. The detail is awesome and what clarity! The only thing I don't care for that it seems to take a few seconds longer than normal to focus....
Pros:
- Durable
- Easily Interchangeable
- Lightweight
- Strong Construction
Cons:
- Slow Focus

Fabulous lens. Great deal.
This is a great lens for macro work and also portraiture if you're into that. Love the focus range limiter. And it's super light weight. Great addition to my camera bag.

Definitely One Which Should Be...
It is comparatively cheap on price, but great on performance. It gives super sharp images and is one of the best in this price range. It has a light body which makes it easy to handle. Definitely one which should be considered.

Dazled
I picked up a Tamron 90mm Macro F 2.8 a week back and I was truly dissappointed to see the aperture change to F5.6 at close range. There is no manual way of controlling the aperture to keep it steady at F 2.8 as it is made to seem in th specs.
Pros:
- 1.Good sharpness
- 2.Good flash reproduction
- 3.Good pricing
Cons:
- 1.No F2.8 aperture control trhough the focus range
- 2
- No VR or IS in the lens

Tamron SP AF 90mm f/2.8 Di Macro 1:1 review
The most affordable macro option available at around this focal length, the Tamron SP AF 90mm f/2.8 Di Macro 1:1 and its previous incarnations have long enjoyed popularity as a budget third-party alternative to the bigger brands.

Tamron 90mm f/2.8 Di Macro 1:1 SP AF
It is extremely disappointing that the AF is so badly off because if my copy wasn't so miscalculated it would be a great lens. Once AF fine tune is maxed out on my D7100, the lens is good. I initially bought the non-Di version and had a lot of trouble with it, so returned that copy.
Pros:
- With AF fine tuning maxed out it is very sharp for portraits
- Excellent macro results if focused manually
Cons:
- Focus completely off and only corrected with maximum AF fine-tune
- Not usable on my older DSLRs
- Concerns dismissed by Ebay seller and Tamron support
- Not economical to fix so must use as is

REVIEW: Tamron SP AF 90mm f/2.8 Di Macro
This lens will not disappoint you with its sharpness, which is a match for its competition especially wide open. The lens actually read out as f/3 wide open which is not quite ‘what it says on the tin', loosing almost a third of a stop but does come in straight away with good resolution figures.
Pros:
- Focussing speed (for a macro
- Performance wide open
- Lightweight
Cons:
- Build quality not quite as robust as some
- Peak in wrong place for Macro (but great for portraiture
- Lack of a protective case/pouch

Tamron SP AF 90mm F/2.8 Di Macro 1:1 Model 272E Lens
Since 1979, Tamron has produced 90mm macro lenses whose optical quality has rivaled the extraordinary Micro-Nikkors. Some photographers claim to have preferred the Tamron over the Nikkor because of its superior handling of out-of-focus areas ("Bokeh").
